Recent Harvest/New Grow: DEFINITELY WORTH AT LEAST LOOKING AT MY THREAD PLEASE :)

Hey everyone. So first off here are photos of my recent harvest now that its all cured up. (rep is always welcome :-o) 108.3g from 4 plants under my 250w HPS. Basically a month of veg on those plants so they weren't as tall as they could of been but a great crop. I Highly recommend aliendawg if you can find it. great plant (alien techXChem dog 5). And of course jack and blue dream are solid. Afghan kush is a nice smoke but the pheno I had was very leafy. Sample Pics:

And now my next grow . . .
Currently in veg under my 250w hps with an 80w fluoro with two 40w bulbs (one of each spectrum) chillen on the side. Already started to top them, planning on switching to flower around mid-late may. FFOF soil and using FF Big Bloom, Grow Big, and Tiger bloom for nutes as they grow.

Plants are as pictured: front left - Skywalker OG (tatooine phenotype for those who understand that lol, if you dont, LEARN YOUR SHIT YOUNG PADAWAN!) front right is cali hash plant X chocolope. Back left is Matanuska Thunderfuck (yes, its legit for all you who know how hard it is to really get this strain) and back right is Larry OG. Questions, comments, discussions, debates, etc . . . oh yea and bud porn, are always welcome.

Thanks everyone, if any of you are familiar with any of these strains please offer feedback and tips because I have not grown any of these strains before myself.

Well everyone else liked my bud porn, so maybe we are all high from growing awesome weed and smoking it and you need to still learn how :o, also, if you knew what MTF was, you'd know legit cuts are hard as fuck to find (and if you say otherwise, your full of shit).

and yes mtf is rare as shit, good thing u got ur hands on a cut. i would love to see how that choco hash plant mix will do and what it will produce.

GlockDoc haha I think I've. Decided to just purchase a 250w HPS for starting out, so I don't have to drop the extra coin for a 600w. From what I'm being told I could put at least 3 plants in 3 gallon pots under there and maybe pull oz each..sound about right?

well the way i look at things is by seeing how much watts per sq ft you are pushing as well as lumens but more focus on watts. so how big is ur cab in inches?!?

I can go 24x24 or 36x36..not sure how many 3gal pots would fit. Or would 2gal be big enough for 12-12 from seed? Possible for a oz each with a 250w HPS you think?

Glockdoc - yea I've never smoked legit MTF before, but im excited to grow it. As you can see from the pics, the choco/hash is growing like crazy. It's actually the same age as the MTF if you can believe it.


I am actually going to be vegging these plants for a bit this time. I'm shooting for 2oz each plant so I want some monsters! lol

Obviously the bigger the pots the better, I grow in 2-2.5gal pots simply due to space restrictions. Ideally I'd use 5 gallon buckets. 250w HPS is nice but more then 4 plants under it is tough and even 4 is a stretch. I get away with it because I have the fluoros for undergrowth. If your buying a light I'd honestly go with the 400w size (you can find them online for only like $20 more then a 250w HPS), thats what i'd like to get when I can financially. For my plants to get 108g I vegged on 18/6 for about 5 weeks before switching to 12/12. Id recommend at least a 1 month veg time because marijuana needs to be a certain size before it will sex out anyways so if your growing 12/12 from seed you really wont add much time to the grow because it still needs to grow enough before it will sex. Additionally, on 18/6 it gets more light (obviously, lol) so it grows faster and bigger :-D. Just my advice. But if your looking for an oz a plant it sounds about right to me.

CourageToGrow I think I've been talked into a 4X4 600w HPS tent!! I would imagine if I did 12-12 from seed in that in 2-3gal pots I could pull more than a oz a plant!! Maybe just get the 400w in there, we'll see..but thanks for all the info buddy!!!

Nice. Props to whoever talked you into that! Post some pics of it when you get it all set up. And with that you will definitely get more then a oz a plant. You could probably grow 12oz to a lb in that. :clap:

You think if I switched out the 600w HPS for a 400w I would have less heat issues and save some on the light bill, without losing much yield?

A general rule is about 0.5g per watt. Obviously lots of factors play into yield besides lighting so thats just a baseline. If heat is an issue for you, look into getting a free standing AC unit. You can just throw it in the corner of the tent and thatll help cool it. You can get some nice plants with a 400 though so if the power bill is a concern thats not a bad way to go either.
