Good evening RIU and µgrowing community, this begins the third week of flowering for the Blackberry plant as well as the fourth week from sprout of the Madness/??? seeds ...still waiting on a clue to that plant’s identity.

In the past week; Apollos 1-3 stretched and were given the old twist-stem-and-topdress treatment, Ancient Forest humus was used. All plants received a healthy dose of tea consisting of Molasses and Ancient Forest. The flower bed’s Clover was starting to take over so it was mowed and topdressed with more AF. All flowering plants were trained and trimmed, they now receive tap water.

Work in the garden is generally done a day or so after taking update pics so that everything’s happy and healthy for presentation; today, I’d like to show the opposite. With this in mind, all training/trimming in flower was done yesterday at lights on.

Looking awesome Dude really curious to see how the bed works out

Thank you for the comments gentlemen. I am also curious to see what happens with the bed ..it's definitely weird, almost like the bed is growing a single plant. When one part is stressed the entire system looks uneasy.

Does it seem early for the BB to be budding up already? I guess the start of the third week is about right. Caught some preflowers on the Madness before lights off today too.

:shock:So I mixed this soil up about 2 weeks ago> Ancient hummus, Worm castings, Roots organics, plant tone1:25..... watered. put in smart pots and let sit for about 12 days..

And then>took out of smart pots and put in plastic tote

And then> watered and mixed with hands, and let sit for about 2-3 days.

And then> I looked into it (the tote) and found these cob web type things. what are they? should i remove them, or leave them in and just let it sit for a few more days. I will be starting round 2 on monday and seeds will be in dirt by tuesday.I have to go get soil test strips and some lime to ph my mix before i start down the fox trail again (monday adventure).

Also are u done with that filter You DIY'er you....???

In general, "Cobwebs" (fungal mycelia) are a sure sign of healthy soil. Let 'em grow.

Two things:

The largest benefit will come from letting it cook for another 1-2 weeks. By that time, nutrients will be plant accesible and the PH issues after liming will be resolved. Lime is a long term compound, it takes quite some time before its effective as a PH stabilizer and micronutrient provider. Don't worry about PHing the mix, apply 1 Cup/Cuft and let it cook another week or two.

Hand in hand with the above, the soil's gonna be too hot for seedlings. IME, young plants don't need a complex rhizosphere; maybe wait until the first transplant and use at a 50/50 mix with normal soil? At anyrate, it's a very nice mix - i'd use it!

Would you post a link to the new thread when it's up?

I love diy projects.

And no, i'm not done yet. Carbon is freakin expensive, i'm looking online now to see if there's a better deal than what's around town.

If you guys don't mind seeing an incomplete project, I'd be more than happy to post pics without the carbon.

Link will be posted for sure. I wanna get everything cleaned out first. Have you ever ordered seeds? I want to do the attitude thing, but I need some confidence/ balls to do it.

Also I like the idea of starting seeds in a "cooler"soil. it will be a the light warrior and ocean forest mix i have cooking also. it is in a ziploc. I have a plan, i just hope it works.

Over the summer I am going to obtain all the goods for a super soil mix/ a mix of methods. plenty of time to cook and hopefully plenty of time to get some veggies in a raised bed going too ( i imagine if the soil grows fire dank nugs than it will grow some pretty amazing veggies also..... supplement some of these cost by tag'n some custii's at the farmers market, and hooking them up with some H3tti peppers, mates, and Squash. I bought a little zucchini squash the other day for $1.25-- i thought what the fuck am i doing? why am not selling squash! wasn't even organic!!! things are more expensive at the market, so I wanna at least try to sell some stuff!

Sell them veggies at a farmers market? Definitely a good plan. I'm looking forward to the upcoming grow, it sounds like everything's falling into place.

Attitude's where I got the seeds for this grow; pricing's not the best but guaranteed shipping is nice, so is the shirt.

Tester nug....prob gonna be about a fat :joint: when dry

Weekly update.

Kept my hands out of the grow as much as possible this week. Apollos are entering the vegetative state and will soon need to be transplanted. Blackberry has begun trich production, Madness is budding, and the mystery seed has shown its first preflower.

Amazon had 3LBs of carbon for $12 shipped, expected delivery date is 3/31. Once the carbon filter's finished, i'll post the build.
