Nirvana Ice - 400w - Waterfarm

I haven't been around the computer lately. I'll update with some pictures tomorrow. It's gotten a lot bigger since last picture posted.
 
Not really sure of the day. It's been 6 days since I posted the last picture so here's another. No nutes still. Temps have been pretty good this time highest I've seen was 80f. Usually around 75.

SWEETLEAF!!! looks awesome.. i was wondering when i should start nutes.. since im not far behind you mr. shimmy can you tell what your adding in nutes as often as possible. i would really appreaciate the help.. Thanks have a wonderful week!
 
looking good mr2shim. i wish i had of used rock wool cubes o my grow instead of just going straight into the hydroton. i am on day 10 now and im a little way behind u as the hydroton seemed to burn my girls

That looks amazing. Not sure if the Ice will make it all the way until chop day because we are planning a move here within the next month or two. Well just take it one day at a time and see how it pans out. Thanks again everyone for the kind words.
 
A root has already appeared coming out of the grow chamber! I just started using nutes 2 days ago with 1/4 tsp for 2 gallons, only 110ppm with 0 ppm water. Ill post a new picture here in a little while. This one seems to be growing better, probably because I'm in the tent only once a day instead of every 10 minutes lol. I also covered the top with aluminum foil, I got sick of dealing with the slash and I want to really see how much she drinks a day.

Hello mr2shim, she's looking great man. About the foil, I did a bit of an experiment regarding that; I took the temps of my reservoir early one morning and they were at 70 degrees, I placed the foil and left it on during the entire day and before she went to sleep I measured the temps again and they were at 77 degrees. I figured it could be because of the heat of the lamp during her light cycle. To verify I tried again the next morning but without the foil. Early day temps were at 71 degrees and left her running without the foil and checked again before bed time and the temps were relatively cooler at 73 degrees. It was not as much a difference as with the foil but it was less. One could deduce that after some time this raise in temps keeps adding up and your res temps could get hotter than you would think. Think about it; when you place a potato with foil in a BBQ, that potato will cook inside, same thing happens here, it acts as a heating agent to the entire reservoir. I decided to not go with the foil and to reduce splashing I cut the drip ring tube about 3/4 inch and lowered the hydroton amount a bit so that the drip ring is below the edge of the bucket. This way the splashing occurs still but it all stays within the bucket. Anyway just thought I'd share that little experiment of mine. Can't wait to see how your Ice turns out man, hope you get to grow her entirely with the move and all, good luck bro.
 
Yea, I'll have to try that to see what happens.. Not too worried abut res themps though because they were fine last grow. Root is about 6" or so into the res already. Looking back at the strawberry diesel, the Ice doesn't seem to be as large as SD was at the same stage of growth. No big deal really, but one plus is the root is through the res and that didn't happen so soon with the SD.

Looks good I've been running mine with foil and no issues in the 50 or so days it's been running.
 
mr2shim how do you feel about using H202 in your res? I tried it for a couple of reservoir changes and I did notice a bit of faster growth, more oxygen I think plays a part since the H2O2 eventually turns into pure Oxygen after loosing a molecule or two in a few days time; also it helps to treat and prevent root rot. Any thoughts?

No, I really haven't done that much research on it to be honest so I'd only use if it I thought there was root rot.
