Potroast, Ella Jean, and Mary Janey; What do you want from a mod?

There has been some confusion and bickering over what a mod needs to be since the mod app thread was started. There are questions as to what type of mod you're looking for. Whether you're planning on assigning a new mod or two in every room, or if you're looking for a new whole site mod to fill fdd old position.
Personally, I'm wondering how you're gonna make the decision. Are you gonna put it to a vote? Or are you gonna choose yourselves (rolli and potroast etc.)?
As for the mod job, what will be expected of the new mod? Do they have to be a professional in the subject of the room them mod, or will they just be asked to enforce the forum rules? Will they be given the power to ban members? And what kind of access will they have to our private information such as our registration email and stuff?
Any insight you could give would help ease my mine. Thanks roast.

Geez, Beansly, I thought it was said pretty plainly in these 2 sentences:

I hope that clears it up some.

There will be no vote, I will decide with the help of our member's advice.

We hope to have several Forum Mods in each forum. What kind of Mod they are will be shaped by the community, they will be judged just the same as I and other Mods have been judged. If someone is not playing nice, they will be relieved. Any problems will be taken care of by the community.

They will not have access to our member's email address or IP address. They will not be able to ban or give infractions. They will have the ear of the people who can do that though.
