those are pretty good lights for the price...i got a few of the 42watt ones from the same company from HD...work pretty well...not much heat...and for the price and and most people having a home depot near by...you cant beat it
id keep them...they are good for starting seeds...will give new sprouts enough light to live...and get them to stretch a little bit before putting them under stronger lights...least thats how i do it.ill start out new sprouts with a low watt bulb then after it gets it first set of true leaves..ill add in the high power stuff..so i would keep them....if nothing else they can be used for extra side lighting later on...but you are def gonna need more watts...those are not enough for even one plant...but i know where your coming from...i had never grown using cfl's till now..and for a first timer it gets confusing...least there are sites like this now to help people out...when i started there wasnt anything like this out..but that was 15 years ago...when there wasnt any compact cfls...so i started off growing with hps...now due to stealth reasons i cant use hps..so when i started growing now i went with cfl's.....but you will need to get a few more lights..but keep the ones you have..also helpfull if you blow a light to have backups...some light is better then no light if you have some blow on you
ouch..that sucks...and the cleanup for these things are evil....they now sell a kit that removes and the gases, toxins, and powders that come out of these bulbs....im sure they have other cheap ones but this is one i found...http://greenbulbstore.com/products/broken-cfl-clean-up-kits/10-302-broken-cfl-clean-up-kit-two-pack/true always good to have on hand i keep them handing and when stepsons 65 watt cfl light fell i gave him a 4 bulb 23 = 92 watt fixture i rigged poor bastard first his crop was all male so i felt sorry and gave him clones then this is second bulb he broke
ok i am going right now to get the bulbs that you sent me the link to when i get back how far do i need to put them from the plant?
I'd aim to get three or four more 42 watt cfl's.
You will get a feel for watering with due time.
Some strains feed/drink more or less than others.
Start light and go from there.
Crazy as it sounds, good dirt isn't cheap, but you can get a rather large bag of quality soil for 18-20 bucks.....and it's well worth the little extra money.![]()
