can i clone from a fan leaf?

can i cut one of my fan leaves on one of my flowering plants and clone with it just using water?

would i need cloning gell? a dome?

really im looking for the very easiest way to clone without stunting growth to my plants and without buying equipment.

Probably because the leaf is a very small part of the plant that, to begin with, does nothing but absorb light and grow to be a big leaf. The stem on the leaf is just a nutrient highway.

one leaf by itself might grow into a plant in a laboratory - but under normal conditions you need a stem with a leaf node and a leaf i believe.. many people select a 'mother' plant and use it soley for cloning..

Fan leafs don't support new growth. So if I have this right, in-order to clone you need a part of the plant that is capable of supporting new growth. If you look at a fan leaf all the leaf is gonna do is get bigger. However the leaf will not have any new growth on it (branches ext...). If you cut a branch, the branch will support new growth, thus allowing you to clone it...

Then you know something I don't, true that I don't know much. Anyway I've never tried, I always make cuttings that have several leafs or small branches and that are attached to the stem with a nice node. Anyway I had to know and it is apparently possible depending the specie of the plant. Wonder if it work with cannabis and if it is productive enough. To my experience, if your plant is healthy, you can without any problems make a decent cutting, don't worry it will grow back and even might beneficiate your girl.

wait till harvest clip your buds and select a branch with the greenest leaf on it and clone that
or select one now that has no or little bud sites you only need a 3 or 4 inch piece, I have used tops taken from making the 4 cola cluster

This will not work. Don't waste your time. If you don't know how to clone there are many tutorials on the net about cloning. You have to have a node to propagate. There has to be an apical meristem on the top of the cutting to continue growing. Yes there are species of plants that are propagated by leaf cuttings. African violets are one plant everyone knows that can be propagated by leaf, so yes it can be done, but cloning MJ like this has no reasonable chance for success. The preferred method for asexual propagation of MJ is tip cuttings.

Yes you can, but like someone else said, in a Lab using Tissue Culture! Do to think the people behind supplying normal plants to garden centres by the lorry load have Mother Plants with rooms full of cuttings!
