Okay, so this is my first post here. I've learned so much from these forums already that I feel I owe everyone a thank you, but I'll get aquainted with each member individually rather than writing a giant premature thank-you note.
Anyways, to the point. I have a very serious infestation on my girls outdoors. This is my first serious grow-- I've tried last year and produced all of a gram, while the rest of my plants died off. This year before starting I did alot of research. I found out that I had to feed my girls, something I had up to this point neglected completely. I live in canada, and after ordering fox farm online, and losing the $90 due to it being outlawed in my country, I found a nice little low key store to buy my supplies at. I bought Fox Farm Big grow, after hearing the raving reviews, and also picked up cal mag and liquid karma to fill in any deficiencies.
I've noticed a world of difference, and all of my plants are flourishing like I've never seen before. I believe I've been over watering to this point after reading a few topics tonight, so I will slow down on the nutes and watering in general, to probably once a week, rather than several. However, that's the least of my worries. These bugs have been kicking my ass, keeping me on my feet, desperately scrambling for answers to the problem. I'm not sure what they are, they look like little grasshoppers, but I'll tell you one thing, they eat the FUCK out of my fan leaves and are becoming more and more of a problem every day.
I went to Hi times a few weeks ago and bought neem oil, which I was assured would take care of the problem. Unfortunately, either he lied, or these bastards are more persistent than he anticipated. Either way, they are doing too much damage for me to comfortably sit aside and watch.. I need some effective solutions asap. I read up that garlic and water, or soap and water, will take care of the problem, but I do not want to jump into a makeshift solution without knowing what portions to use, bc as I said, this is my first year of having decent sized plants and the last thing i want to do is kill them off by being hasty and stupid.
If someone could firstly, identify these fucking pests, it'd be grately appreciated. I go out there, spray the fuck out of my plants with neem oil, smack the little bastards off, only to come back 5 minutes later to find just as many on them as before. my fan leaves are really taking a beating and ive had to pinch off several of them because of massive holes, which surely stunts the plant in some way, or atleast slows down photosynthesis.
A few of my plants are way too lanky for my liking as well, and I will take any advice I can get. They are in a corn field, and the ground is completely clay, so I dug out nice holes and put in soil instead of the clay crap. I know nothing of mixtures of soil and aerating substances, so if someone could teach me about that I'd be very grateful. It is too late to add anything into my current plants, but I've also got 50 clones that I still need to put out, so if I could get a recipe for soil they may stand a better chance.
Also, I have a few questions about my nutes; I usually add about 1 teaspoon of cal mag, liquid karma, and big grow to each gallon.
before I jump ahead of myself too much here, I'll just post this topic, and attach some pictures of my babies. take note of the leaves, or what is left of them, and please, someone, save my damn crop from these little bastards bc its driving me crazy. By the way, the black things are the bugs. they wont leave me alone!
