I honestly don't know if the clones wouldmind that or not. Maybe put them on a windowsill?
Maybe someone will chime in about that.
whats the difference from putting them on a windowsill and just straight putting them outside?

i was actually thinking i was going to put them in a pot outside during the day and bring them in at night then once they get established plant in bigger pot or plant in ground.. not sure which i should do...

p.s. im buying the clones today

what ever you do, dont use a black nursery pot. If you must, put a larger one around it so that the sun doesn't raise the temp of the roots to like 104 degrees and kill everything. ive seen it happen. Not pretty.

how's the weather in your area? If there's no big storms in the future and the weather is going to be nice for a week or 2, throw the ladies outside.
I'm in the northeast, so the weather over here is a bit different than in CA. How cold does it get at night at this time of year over there?

hey everyone, so after much diliberation ive decided to gorw a couple plants outdoors... but ive never done it outdoors so any helpfull advice would be awesome..

my plan so far: buy 2 to 3 clones and planting them in my grandmas garden(shes ok with it dont worry) the site gets lots of socal sun nice shade later in the day... im just curious as too what i would need. should i grow them in pots or in the ground, ect, ect.. and any suggestions would be great plus rep.... i currently have 3 plants growing indoors and im assuming that growing indoors is harder and takes much more work than growing outdoors...and since its summer pretty much all year around down here i was going to plant them this easter weekend, thoughts???

oh ya and if you havent already check out my indoor grow, its in my signature!!!
Hey man i would start them out in pots and you can also use buckets to let them grow bigger. An advantage to uses pots is if anything goes bad you can always move the plants

ok so i just went and bought a BlueBerry clone, and a TrainWreck clone i put them in pots for now ... pretty small pots actually cause i dont have any bigger, i just took a couple pics so here they are ...

what should i do cause its still april and its kinda cold at night nothing below 55 so should i keep them inside or just keep them outside? like i said before tho, my closet is kinda full and the light in there is already set to 12/12...

i dont know how to make the pics bigger, i emailed them to myself from my iPhone, so bare with them!

Put them out during the day And bring them in at night if it gets chilly. 55 degrees is warm enough to leave them out. Are you going to transplant them into bigger pots or put them in the ground?

Clones are looking good Btw.

in answer to your other question.. im thinking about putting one in the ground and then putting one in one of those huge like 30-40 gal pots hopefully theyll be beast like in a few months...

I'll be following this thread all the way through!

P.s.- start thinking about what kind of soil your going to fill that pot with.

should i just toss them into my closet? the light in my closet is set to 12/12 cause of my three other plants, that wont trigger the baby clones will it? even if it did they would revert when put outside, wont they?

nope theres no space issues at all
As a newby to the great outdoors, there IS a lot to learn but here are a few tips.

Find out what your grandmother does with her peppers and tomatoes.

You won't go wrong doing the same to Cannabis.

DON'T PUT YOUR NEW CLONES UNDER 12/12!

Clones are sexually mature and will begin to flower in as little as five days under 12/12.

Reverting to vegging will cost you at least two weeks.

If you're not getting frost, put your babies in one gallon pots and put them a sunny location, outdoors. The days are long enough to prevent flowering(barely).

Ask Grandma about "cold frames". They are a mini greenhouse used to keep young plants warm and growing, early in the Spring.

I learned much about gardening from my grandmother. I was pulling weeds at age 3, and Grandma helped me start my first vegetable garden when I was eight.

No, she didn't grow pot, but I credit her advice with making my first grow successful(a very long time ago).

well what would you reccommend? i just used the last of my FFOF ... would you reccomend that or something else? my closet grow is in soil and im using FFOF, ive never had to actually feed the plants just water, it seems like FFOF has all the nutes they need at least from my experience ...

DUDE, beware of damn squirrels i learned this the hard way, they watch you and then when you leave, 10 mins later you come back to find your stuff uprooted, w/e you do, place a wire mesh or something 8-10 inches down so they don't burrow under your wire mesh.cover your seedlings with something that lets light in but keeps the animals out!

EDIT:
and when they are big enough you can remove the mesh but make sure it also lets air in!

I've always planted in the soil in my woods, so I personally can't recommend any brand. Looking at the ingredients of ffof, it appears to be a damn good soil. I would stick with that.

In reply to the feller above, why would a squirell burrow underneath his plants? I'm curious, I've never heard of a squirell doing that.

For good measure CB, if you see squirell around your garden shoot the bastard!

my grandma has never had any kind of animal problem in all the years of living here, so i dont see why, just because i plant some weed its going to attract rodents

Regarding soil, most of the non prenuted, premium soils are killer, but the price for some is silly.

I buy inexpensive pooting soil from Ace Hardware. $4.49 or cheaper, with a course texture. I add a variety of things containing various nutrients.

Worm castings, guano, volcanic ash, etc. and something like miracle grow to increase the total NPK.

My point is, if you learn what is required in a balanced soil, you'll save as much as half on your soil and fertilizer costs.

Custom Cannabis nutes work pretty well, but a little knowledge will save you $$$.

Pretty much.

If you are planting in native soil, mix it about half and half with your soil and amendments.

This will encourage the plant to extend roots into the surrounding soil.

No need to go deeper than a foot, but the wider the hole, the larger the plant's potential.
