Wow, I am watching live coverage of congress right now (while baked) and it is fascinating watching all these old, windbags talk about how health care is bad. Yet they all get free health care from the government because of their job. I do not think any of them know what it is like to be unemployed and tear a meniscus in your knee and know that you don't have money or insurance to get it looked past an ER visit.

Or the fact you can't afford pain pills for said knee.

I just don't get it. We are the only wealthy country out there that does not provide health care for its people.
We were the only country that has never filed bankruptcy do to the over whelming cost of health care burden on the system, just look at how many country's have filed in the last 20 years!!!

I don't know why you are crying over money WE ALL GROW IT:mrgreen:

I have a great idea! Get that .38 snubbie out of your dresser, go to your next door neighbor, stick the gun to his head, then take the money you need from him. Just rob his ass to the hilt. Oh wait! You don't need to do that, cuz we now have the federal government to do it for you. bongsmilie

Hey,"Kid",,,I'm well educated,,,way beyond what you wre tought in life;-)
You really got to be openminded abot such a drastic, change in THE USA,,Instead of being blinded by yourself and your master,,,,You know who controls you,,,Not obama:roll:
You make a good point about us needing to be more open minded. Its true that we could use some schooling in that area.

I would ask that you be open minded for a moment and let me share with you one of the reasons that I believe this HealthControl bill to be bad for my country

Here in the States most of us are proud to be free. Being free means more than I get to do this and I get to do that and you cant do anything because I am free. Being free also mean being free to do well, or not. This is like nature. You know, the whole "strong will survive" kind of deal. This is one of the keys to being an American. However, we keep adding entitlement program after entitilement program and now suddenly we have a large pool of the not so strong. Most of them would have been fine but you pay some men not to work and guess what they aint going do? If those entittlement programs were not there most folks will get on with the program.

This is just what I believe and it may be flawed. Here, hold this :joint:

Are you calling a 2% fine for not buying insurance 'robbing to the hilt'? If you are in such a shitty situation in life, you don't have to pay the fine. If you earn under $90,000 or so you get a tax break for gettuing insured. I sit here right now uninsured and a simple illness away from being fucked.

Yet all you can do is compare an investment in the health of this nation as armed robbery *sarcastic applause* YOU FAIL

I see merit in your statement. But it is just not that simple. It's major fault is the assumption that "entitlements" and "handouts" are only given to poor and those unwilling to work. The truth is it works both ways. Corporations and wealthy elite in this nation have managed to manipulate our political system in order to get their own entitlements and handouts. If it was as simple as the government wanting to take from the haves and give it to the have nots that would be one thing. But that argument holds little water when the American political system is also used to take from everyone and give it to the haves so they can then have more! Im stoned as shit right now so I make no claim that what I just wrote makes sense. bongsmilie

Just a quick background, I work and I work hard. I run a small business and also work the family farm. In season I easily put in 70+ hours per week and it damn sure aint behind a desk in a comfy chair. I have health insurance and am happy with it. I only say this for anyone to reference who may assume that because I support healthcare reform i must somehow be looking a handout. I just have a good understanding that one day it might be me with a disease and I dont want to worry about my insurance company dropping me or denying me or my family coverage because of a pre existing condition, etc...

And yet you think you deserve free health care? The only people that deserve free health care in the USA is wounded VETS that need it for service of this nation.

I do have a medical need for being sick, but I do not believe in my heart of hearts that some one else should pay for it because they make more than me...

Just because we are born American does not give us the right to free health care, or free programs that cost others there hard earned money.

If you think that people making more than you should pay for my bills, then I make zero dollars every year and you should send me 30% of you pre-taxed paycheck and also give 6% of your earned income from you refund this year.

What you failed to see in all this is, your insurance company is not going to pay for the disease you may get, it will be the millions of Americans that were forced into buying insurance to cover you in your time of illness. This is the part that goes against every thing American. Watch you will see premiums jump in the next 90 days and people dropped before the dead line. Then it will be were not taking any more new health care premiums this month, the monthly quotas are full you will have to try again next month.

Your right, its not as simple as I stated, but well, you know, I wanted everybody to understand. Anyway you are right about some big corps and some wealthy elite. I submit to you that those too should be allowed to fail. It gets back to the whole "the strong will survive" thing. I saw your comment on the family farm. I sell vegetables to the inner city green crowd. I get better than market price because I practice organic farming.

We both agree on what we want to see with health care we just dont agree on how to get there. To be honest, I cant tell you the correct way to get there. I just dont think our government can accomplish this task. I point to SS which is in real danger. I point to the medicade program which is in real trouble. I point to our Postal Service who is asking congress if they can cut saturdays out of delivery and they admit that this is not going to save them even. They talk about cleaning up fraud in health care. I point to the rampant fraud in medicade, and welfare. Have you driven by your local welfare office lately? I swear to you, you will see folks get out of Cadillacs, new trucks, Lexus, etc etc. The wheels and such are worth a great deal. Oh, and every one of them has a cell phone to his or her head.

Didja eva wonda why they dont clean up welfare fraud? Cause they want a welfare society

You basically made his point for him, certain people don't have to pay for this, hardships I do understand though. What I can't understand is people who broke the laws of this country to be here illegally will get this now without paying or am I wrong?

The only one with the 38 snubbie has been the insurance companies which have been operating virtually regulation free.

Yea sure buddy, I heard this line of crap a year ago about Obamas birth certificate. Desperation is oozing from the right wing. You guys had 8 years to fix this problem and instead sat with your thumbs up your asses trying to figure out which country to invade next. Pathetic.
