Very happy at this point. Today I upped my nutes to 700 ppm and the plants seemed to respond well heres how they looked just before their bed time.

Ya I will keep a close eye on it. I make it a habit to clean and mix a new nutrient solution in my res every sunday. Is that often enough/too often ?

They are about almost three weeks into veg and I am stoked to see their progress. Both plants are growing about a 1/2 inch a day or so. Getting very full and bushy. 600 ppm 5.6-6.0 ph solution feeding 30 minutes a day (2 15 minute cycles)

it shouldnt be to long and your gonna see a big jump in the growth rate, more leaves=more energy to make new leaves which continue the cycle.

When would you recommend I switch to flower ? and also would it be worth the money to purchase a 150 watt hps for flowering and if so then what spectrum light

As to when to switch to flower....that depends. I read a lot of posts that say you switch when the plant shows sex with preflowers. I have also read that if you are using tubes you switch when the plant is between 5 and 8 nodes. These two factors seem somewhat contradictory since when it is that small it probably will not have preflowers. That being said i have seen, as i'm sure that u have also, those 12/12 from seed grows get more yield than the first plant i harvested. All i know for sure is that fluorescent lighting will produce good bud, at least on the top of the plant but it will be noticeably fluffier towards the bottom, so my goal as displayed by my over topped clones would be to keep the plant short through some method of topping or lst to get more light to the most budsites.
I have not used hps lighting yet but i know i really want to from seeing others results so if you have the money i'm sure you would only benefit from it and then you could use your t5's for side lighting, clones, or starting more seedlings. Also, i believe that most hps are either 3000k or have an enhanced spectrum...all which would be great for flowering.

I'm gonna give my girls another veg week and see how they look, if they still look as healthy as they do now then I will pick up a 150w hps and throw them into flower. During all of this I will buy some rooting compound and start four new clones under my t5 fixture that I have now.
What do you recommend as far as topping (how many colas) vs lst ?

If your gonna flower under the hps i'd wait a few weeks. and yes i highly recommend you use the hps. hps come in one spectrum,red. lol. unless you get a son aggro, but thats only available in 400w as far as i know. if your going to top you should do it about 2 weeks before your gonna flower or earlier, for lst you should start lsting now. if you decide to do either one i'd wait at least 2 weeks to flower.

I have been gone for the last 4 days and this is what I came home to. While I was gone I cut down to once a day feeding at a ppm of 650 (regulated by a close friend) and ph of around 5.5-6.0. As you can see from the past pictures they are starting to grow substantially. about an inch a day or so

I am in the market for a 400watt hps now ! These ladies look almost ready for flower!

ya they have the best prices around ... decided to go with a 400 watt hps and im going to order two more hydrofarm t5 lights and add them to the three i already have and use that as my clones veg light when these two go into flower

Just another update with pics. Bumping up my nutes to a 700-750 ppm solution twice a day. the yellow on the fan leaves is what happens when you let two girls take care of your plants while youre gone for a few days and they let them rub up against the light without the fan on at all ! Started bending down the fan leaves branches each morning almost like lst but without tieing ... the pic of them both is after they recovered about 6 hours later

DISASTER HAS STRUCK! Not really, but a few days ago while I was bending down my fan leaves I decided to do the same to my main stems. I broke off the top of my pre 98 bubba kush (Too Medicated) so now im trying to save it as a clone.

The la og kush has a nice little lean to it and seems to be responding well.
