So heres whats going on.

I balanced both buckets 3 days ago (EC and PH to 1100 x500 ec and ph 5. and I balanced my reservoir the same. I started putting in that hygrozyme (a capful per 3.5 gal) .

So the ph was creepin up to about 6.2 in both independent buckets ...but I put in some PH down and got them back to 5.8 and the PPM was staying the same.

So tonight, I checked the ppm of that plant that has been giving me problems...the ph was the same 5.8 ...but the ppm was up to 1200-1300 ppm flashing in between.....
THe other plant is fine......and all is stablized....for now.....

WHats going on here.....leaves definately yellower on the plant with the issue?

So the Ph was goin up....not down...and ec goin up in one bucket?
If your ppms are climbing, it generally means they are too strong. Try backing that one off to 900 ppm and give it a couple of days. If the ppms dont start to drop, back it down to 800. If they dont drop after it is that low, you probly need to rework the nutrient mix for that plant.

So I have changes res mixture down to 1000 ppm at x500 ec. and scaled back the cal-mag.
One thing i should clarify is that I have hard water. My out the tap is at 400 ec x 500 and so I am putting levels at 1000 now I should only have 600 like a flush...right? I put in subculture b, hygrozyme, liquid Karma, kool bloom and botanicare bloom.
I started 12/12 on jan 11th so its almost 4 weeks into. After 1 day of res change the ph is slowly rising....went from 5.8 up to 6....i put it back down. The ec is going up silghtly in the problem bucket.

I have also got the PM under control with the greencure. Im gonna do a sulphur vaporizer treatment the end of this week and that should make it alot easier. I wont be spraying greencure anymore for fear of budrot.

So theres where I am any insight?

Much appreciated.

has anyone tried to make a recirculating dwc setup if so some helpful info appreciated i have been having some problems with regular dwc with ppm and ph levels and I was told if you circulate your system then you will get a more stable nutrient solution and you will only have to check the levels in the res to monitor . I plan to use a total of 8 five gallon buckets 6 with plants and 1 bucket at the beginning with a electric float switch for the pump in the res and 1 bucket at the end with a smaller pump contiouslly running back to the res with a 1000 watt digital ballast I also have carbon filtration and I plan to pump in fresh air in from outside to keep things cool plus I have a 8 port airpump for each bucket. I plan to use fox farm nutes grow big tiger bloom big bloom and cha ching for my plants and gh florakleen for my flush and clonex solution for my bubble cloner does this sound like a good nute program let me know 1 way or the other any comments are better than none. Soon I will have some pics up so please if you have any helpful tips or any comments feel free. Thanks and :bigjoint:
First off, love that avatar, what a rack. Sounds great on everything but the nutrients. I tried using fox farm in my dwc and even with it recirculating there was a bad settling of solids to the bottom which burned my roots and leadt to all around poor plant health. You will have much better results with chemical nutrients. There are pics of my current grow right above. Organic hydro is fairly difficult to get right and does not work very well in dwc, tends to be a lot of problems that are caused to easily. Just so you can see how it went for me, campare this pic below, one above is in Technaflora's chemical nutrients and this is the same strain in fox farm

I know this is a worst case senerio, but thats how it went for me with organic dwc.

I built this RDWC a year ago and it works great.Never have a PH problem.
You dont need all those fancy fertilizers
All you need is General Hydrophinics Bloom and Micro thats it.Get a Blue lab EC stick.PH drops from sunleaves.

So I got the mix down. After 2 water changes the EC x500 has gone from 1300ppm to 900 over night......they are feeding.....yes.
The PH and PM are under control and looks like im gonna make it.
I have just a couple of spots that I had to spray off some PM under the buds.....but that sulfur handled it....its dead its just powder now.
Gonna try some lemon water..... foliar spray....to rinse em off.

Couple of pics for y'all.... any guesses on the harvest....? all trichs are clear still....as soon as I see an amber one...im gonna flush.

thanks for the help.

I also took my res out of the tent tonight.....its cooler outside.

Although some could argue that its cooler inside...... ;-)

But not quite as cool as the tits.....

They are looking good. Glad you got it all under control.

thanks integra. I appreciate your help and reassurance.

I think that gods gift is a 9 week strain....but we will see.....no one has seeds or time specs.
Im gonna do 2 weeks of liquid light with a sulfur once a week after hours and see what happens.
this is gonna save me so much at the dispensary......:)

Danggggggggg... Scary :o

I use fox farms full line and go by their schedule.

Have not had any problems..Knock on wood.

Did you use their schedule, or what?

I used their full lineup and schedule. That pic above wasnt the result of just Fox Farm. That happened over night after I added the new General Organics Bio Root. Next morning I woke up and the plants looked light that. Just had nothing but problems and poor plant health with the organic dwc. The real comparison is a different set of pics. This is what those plants looked like before the Bio Root disaster. This is Blue Kush at 7 weeks flower in Fox Farm

And here is the same Blue Kush(same Mom) at 3 weeks in Technaflora Nutrients

At 3 weeks there is more bud growth and overall better health than the fox far ones at 7 weeks. with all basically the same growing conditions.

Alright. So we decided to start an actual club for all the DWC (DEEP WATER CULTURE) growers on this site. After much thought and anticipation. We would like to extend an open invitation to all the DEEP WATER CULTURE growers here to come and share ur grows.
DWC Club is an equal oppurtunity grower Community. And does not discriminate against race or gender. Color and creed are kinda the same thing.
Many ideas of this club were founded on the original secret society ideas of FIGHT CLUB.The movie.
LIke fight club. The excitement of growing DWC growers share kinda makes ya want to sock ur self in the face.
And should be able to be vented somewhere in secret which is the first rule of DWC Club.

Never speak of ur DWC grow with anyone in real life. This thread was created for solely this reason. It's very easy to get overwhelmed with excitedness growing this style. Just know this club is always here and that sharing this excitement with anyone in real life is wrong and a wrong directed to ur fellow club members.

Which brings me to the second rule. DWC = Deep Water Culture. Point being. Our plants roots live and grow submerged in water. There are no other needs for any extra attachements and gadgets such as aero and drip. Every true secret DWC grower knows they can manipulate these systems to mimmick all the styles inside there reservoirs. Which brings me to the second rule of DWC club.
Drip rarely only tastes good when its leaving the sinus cavity.
Rarely does it do any good in our systems. There are other threads dedicated to this. Find one. U may share ur grows with the DWC growers but not become a member. U will be left on the porch like the fat dude with the tig bitties.
I can only think of 2 rules right now. BWAHAHA lmao.

Without futher adue. DWC GROW CLUB!
Have a lot of catching up to do but will start posting pics soon - growing white widow at the moment

OK, longtime lurker, first time poster on my first grow. I started out with a few plants that never got past the seedling stage. The one that survived that first round is now about four to five weeks old, three weeks in the DWC.
I have a 400w HPS on 18/6 about three feet above the top, ph is 5.6-6.0 without any major fluctuations, don't know humidity but it's probably pretty low because its not that far from my heater. don't have a tds meter or ppm because I've already spent so much.

OK, I have been having meltdowns every three days because everything changes so fast. The latest was two days ago when everything seemed to be going fine, reaching for the sky, then like three hours later, bam, drooping leaves. There were little yellow spots on the leaves, toward the tips of the new growth. I use the GH trio and had recently ramped up to about 2/3 the recommended use There were also some sections of discoloration on the roots but my res is 70, so I don't think it's root rot. It does smell a bit like a fish tank in there though.

So I read that it was possibly nute burn, then replaced with ph adjusted water only, and that was after dipping the roots in ph'ed water for about half an hour and sprayed all the gunk off (I used latex gloves to feel if it was slimy and it wasn't). I also read that I should only use ph'd water for a couple days, so I've done that.

Things started looking up then tonight I get home, and the top leaves are folding in half near the stems, and the whole plant is drooping like crazy. There's also a bit of discoloration again.

So, is there anything that I've done right, and is there anything else I can do better?

The first pic is this afternoon at about 3, then the second two are tonight about midnight. The plant on the left is the one I'm talking about, the other two I just transplanted yesterday (hence the screen). I have no idea what strains they are because it's the Nirvana mix and they don't tell you which ones you get.

Please help. Thank you, you kind souls

Oh, and I forgot to say that I've searched these posts high and low and I can't find the same issues, so if there's something I missed, please post a link. Thanks
