Yeah no shit it is that crossed with their skunk father.... Did you not watch the video? What do you have going on strain wise? You seem to talk down on these strains like you have some crazy shit going on in your grow op...

I did watch the video. You guys don't understand breeding though. You can take the two best plants in the world and breed them, what you'll end up with is a bunch of seeds that can be any quality, with all kinds of variation between seeds. Then you take 100 to 1000 seeds and plant them and you pick the best of that lot for the qualities you seek and breed again, then you take 100-1000 plants select the best and do it again, then again, then again until most seeds that you pop come out with the same traits and quality you are looking for.

Breeders are limited by the time it takes to do all the above and the amount of plants they can actually grow. Unless this breeder has been working on these seeds for years and they're almost ready for market I still say it's only better than nothing.

If you pop them, flower them, they all come out perfect and somewhat uniform in quality etc then come back and shove it in my face, but not until then.

I am not basing an entire grow around this, I will be growing out the seeds and will not be keeping the plant unless something special shows
I have stabilized strains that I use for the main grow
These are more to try out something different for a cheap price
I couldn't care less about the uniformity of the plants or anything as long as it produces good bud
I will make sure to post some pics here when all is said and done

I wasn't trying to rip on you guys or anything either, for the price it's just fine and you will get some good weed out of them no doubt. I am spoiled here now with any clone I want just blocks away, but to be fair I still remember starting out with bagseed myself and always got something decent. Then years later I decided to try some top seeds and then after seeing those results kicking myself in the ass for not starting with the best stuff to begin with.

Investing in quality genetics should be top priority in any grow, as important as the light you use. Eventually you will all understand what I'm trying to say.

Even if you have random traits from the offspring, I find it hard to compare the results to bagseed. I've got room to grow them outside this summer, so what the hell. It's just water and dirt. No interuption to my indoor garden.

Oregon makes some valid points regarding stabilized strains.
However there is a lot to recommend in the pursuit of hybrid vigor.


Random crosses can be lots of fun to grow out, it is a bit like rolling the dice because you never no what you are going to get...some crosses will be awful and others may be terrific.

Several years ago I received as freebies on seed orders some unknown crosses called Who's Ya Daddy.

I found about 4 or 5 different types of plants... all were good and two were fantastic. I subsequently crossed these two with some of my long time faves and the results were spectacular.

Hybrid vigor is a beautiful thing to behold!

It was a short offer that ended on the 7th I answered that in my first post

I saw the deal and ignored it. When a male rapes a female at random and a strain isn't actually bred to stability through a few generations of careful selection all you end up with is bagseed quality junk. Those seeds are better than nothing, but not really worth spending any time on either unless you don't have better options. It's exacly what you'll find in any bag of weed on the street the only difference is with those you know who the parents were.

They're free because they aren't worth selling.

I love that in 4 pages of this shit your the only person who ever even noticed the real point of this whole post. It has nothing to do with wether you got the seeds. If you think the seeds are going to be any good. How to properally breed or any of that crap.

THE ENTIRE POINT OF THIS THREAD IS:

Do you think they are going to release the Headband, OG KUSH, LA Woman, and Purple Red that were also crossed with this skunk as free seeds later?



And as for the claim that these seeds are no better than bag seeds I highly disagree. These are all two great strains that have been crossed together that both have strong genetics. While they most likely have not been breed for stability yet you are basically guaranteed good weed with the decent chance for GREAT weed. If you beleive the stories of how sour diesel came from diesel it was the result of basically this exact same situation. A really strong skunk male (that supposedly came from bag seeds at either a phish or dead show) accidentally pollinated some diesel plants and now we have sour diesel.

With bag seed you could be getting shit weed, good weed, and a super slight chance of great weed. And you have no real way of knowing your bag seed genetics.

While I do agree with oregonmeds statements about the importance of breeding for stability and growing with known strains that have stable genetics there is a LOT to be said about genetic variation. I mean OG 18 came from an already "stabilized" strain that then 40 more females were grown and it was considered to be the best one out of those 40. Even after the strain had been stabilized for sale and become one of the most infamous strains it was through genetic variation that they found an even better set of genetics that managed to place at the cannabis cup. From those exact genetics they crossed a 30 year old male skunk and gave away the seeds for free.... And you want to claim that those seeds are worth absolutely nothing? I just cant agree with that statement...

I see the misunderstanding now. I think the title of the thread misled us to the actual question. Everyone was scrambling to order the xmas deal and that talk was the "buzz" around here.
Maybe we'll see those missing x's in a new years deal. Sounds good to me
