First Time DIY Bubbleponics. NIrvana Papaya

plants are doing really well. roots are touching the water from all plants. just waiting for the explosion. I will add another 1/4 dose of nutes tommmorow.
I was looking into getting a hps lamp for the bud stage. couple reasons why i might not want to is
1. not much space i only have a 2 ft x 3 ft x 6ft tall.
2. the heat produced
I already have 18,000 lumens coming from my CFL's would a 150 watt hps be better than that or would i have to go 250 watt and would it be worth the trouble????

When should i remove the water hoses????
When should i top my plants and is their really a big improvment when its done???
i have read Uncle bens topping methods and he says to top at the second node to give 4 main tops. does anyone have any pictures of this after its been done????
Its hard to bring myself to cut a couple days worth of nice growth off.

once the roots hit the deep water you can pull the hose. Have no fear cut away. alot of people make a bug thing of it but its not. I had a fan that fell and hacked off a plant in the middle. It sucked but the plant was fine. It took a few days to recover and start to grow again but thats all. The only reason not to do it is it takes about a week longer but you get way more tops.

New pictures going to do a res change tommorow and add a full dose of nutes.
Really thinking about this topping thing cant figure if i should top now or wait and if you top above the second mode you dont get the hormaonal response and get the 4 main colas you would get from topping at the second node.

Today ive noticed that i had a bunch of yellow spots showing up on only the 1 plant.Ive done a res change today so that might clear it up. my water ph has been constant around 6-6.5(try to keep it around lower 6)
ive been slowly adding nutes. As a preventative instead of the full dose that is reqired ive done a 2/3 dose. All of the other plants seem to be doing great.

I think you have it right to throttle down teh nutes. What I see is a slight case of nute burn. The lowering of the nutre level should fix that up. I see one more thing. You have the feeders at the very top of the rockwool block and they work better when put mid block so as to not overwater the entire root system and possibly down the plant. It also plays a part in an overnute situation on occasion. They do look a little small for full nutes. I'd say let them grow another node before you max out.

Hey man looking alrite but you def need to slow down on nutes, i dont give any nutes unitl mine are 20 days from seedling...

I had a light rack chop a plant down in half when i was starting flower, it lived, but I cloned all its shoots and aborted it for other reasons.

When should i remove the water hoses????
sometimes around the beginning of the 3rd week, of after the 3rd week, AFTER the roots are really in the deep water. By the end of the 3rd week, the pump gets yukey stuff in it and the tubes will clog up anyway. I discuss all taht in my DIY Tutorial. Roseman's DIY Bubbleponics Tutorial - Marijuana Growing

Ok so today i m going to top the three plants that are healthy. The one plant with the burn marks will not be toped.
Since i am topping i will try to clone the tops that i cut i have the rock wool soaking now.
Hopefully the spotted plant revives. It had a ton of water coming from the feder tube and since at one has several deep water roots i removed it and it should be ok....hopefully.

Yeah I've been trying, got a bunch of excellent nutes now so I'm just ordering seeds every 2 weeks now LOL.
Waiting on my 2nd n 3rd orders.

ok so i topped them wow, pretty stressfull i have cut the big 1 at the 3rd node and the other two at the 2nd node.
It looks like i removed everything
The cuttings i removed have been dipped in rooting gel and placed into the rockwool.
Any tips on maintaining nice fresh clone?
