How Long Have You Let Your Supply Cure And What Were The Results?

So I have been wanting to start a thread that people can explain their own personal methods of curing after harvest. We All know about the mason jars and to burp them every day for about 7 days, but how long do you let it cure after? and based on the time curing did it get better or worse potency and taste wise. how did you store it?
right now i have about 5 oz.s dried in mason jars just chillin in a closet that stays dark. i have 1 in the fridge. what do you have???:weed:

I generally cure for about a month. In the beginning I burp every day but towards the end I burp about once a week.

Then for long term storage I pump all of the air out. I just opened a jar the other night that had been stored this way and then sat in a cabinet at room temp for a year. It was still great.

For me, curing creates a smoother smoke.

I pretty much just grow for myself and for when friends come over. I've got a 270w indoor cab grow that I get about 5-6oz out of every harvest.

This jar was part of an experiment that I started back when I was on HG420. I wanted to see if pumping the air out would let me store for long periods. I used some pint canning jars and then labeled them on when to open. First jar was at 6 months, then 9 months and a year.

I definitely didn't notice any degradation and if anything, the smoke got smoother. Right now I'm smoking stuff from 2 harvest ago which was about 5 months ago. My last harvest is sealed and I'm 4 weeks in on my latest grow.

wow
you have too much weed on your hands lol.

just jk :p

i hang dry for 5-7 days than into jars for 24 hrs than open and fluff depending on how wet i may leave em open over night i do this for 3 weeks or how ever long it takes for em to completely dry

After 4 -6 weeks max. with proper burping of jars ect the drying/curing process is pretty much complete but I find that your weed will get tastier with time thereafter as it ages. It needs to age air tight in the dark so the sugars, starches, cholorphyl ect continue to degrade for the smoother tastier smoke.

Nicely done.

To be honest, I haven't weighed my harvests in over a year. I did it while I was running a grow log over at HG420 but got out of the habit when they went offline.
me too... not sure when the last time i weighed my harvest... not really any reason too, i don't sell it, looks like i have enough to last me at least 6 months so no reason to weigh it, i'll have more in 2 months and whats left from previous harvest goes to hash and butter, always keep butter in the freezer

if you harvest when you should you shouldnt need to be curing for months. 2 weeks and thats it. just use the jars in the storage after that.

y dont you flush dude? i dont agree with smoking all those nutrients i think i can tell when they havent been flushed by the taste and the ash. also im always on the look out for bud thats been tainted with a BRIX+ product or silica sand blasting. i think curing for as long as possible gives it a great clean flavor, but its unnecessary unless your storing your crop for the dry season or something

well i dont flush as in the 2 wk method . k my watering schedule is nute, h20,h20,nute repeat. so after the last nute feeding towards end of harvest lets say monday i do water water water(tues wednesday thurs) then let plant suck the dirt dry then wait another day and chop down so there is a mini flush. and as far as sprayin stuff on my bud i dont but have heard of this as well. the reason i stopped flushing was becasue no body could tell the difference and it allows me to give yeild up to my plants for the full last 2 weeks of flowering instead of loosing that nute time

We flush our plants for 1-2 weeks usually.

Dry them on the clothesline, then into the mason jars. Everyone takes their "cut" of the jars/crop and "seasons accordingly". I like to pop the top and fluff for 3-7 days, then if it's not going to be used, which is usually the case, they get Vac. sealed and into the Bud Fridge. Nice and cool, and completely dark.

There's somewhere between 2-3oz's in there now of Jack Herer that is a present for a friend of mine who i only see once a year. It's been in there for 4 1/2 months, and opened 1 time per once. I smoke 1-2 bowls of it to make sure it's still good, then reseal and back to the fridge. Hardest part is not smoking ALL of it, since i plan to give my friend 2oz of it.

Jack Herer is one of my favorite strains, and sadly I imagine i'm down to less than 1/2 ounce. Oh well, more in the garden.
