1st grow

So all my leaves are now starting to get yellow/brown tips. Im done waiting on the soil to get dry so i watered her with 1/4 strength nutes. let yall know how she looks in the morning.

Good news is all this recent hoorah hasnt stunted her growth.

Heres a question, when should i start LST given its recent condition and root damage.?

if you are gonna LST your girl you should start now.. wait until you water and give her a day or so to get her strength back up.. but if you are gonna train her now is about the time...
dont blame you on not waiting for the soil to dry.. its hard to sit back and just watch that happen... im glad you made it this long at least.. and the rapid yellowing only further confirms the diagnosis.. i just wanted to wait as long as possible to make sure thats what it was.. but like you said tho, it hasnt slowed growth... so thats good... condition, as bad as it looks, isnt bad tho... its just some yellowing.. the nitrogen boost will help a lot... let us know how she takes...

My plant had a big growth last night. The tips are actually starting to turn normal color so i think the nute watering was a success, but at what point will they be 100% back to normal?

also ya sampson i wanna start LST tonight or tomorrow or something. heres updated pictures let me know if you think its ready or not

also, can anyone tell if this is a girl or boy yet?

if you had a big growth spurt then i definitely think its over the root damage.. u should start LST tonight! if your excited about that growth spurt just wait till you LST cause my plant responded so fast it would only take a couple hours or so to start turning back towards the light.. its so fun to watch

ya i think im starting it tonight, im using cote hanger hooks to hold it down, unless yall suggest something else?

also 2 questions. One, my drainage isnt too good i dont think, is there a way to help that? (there are plenty of holes) and two, is the pot its in now big enough? once i start LST it would be impossible to transport it later so i need to make sure.

as far as the pot size keep in mind the bigger the pot the bigger the plant..your pot looks about the size of mine i think it will probably be fine. and i use yarn for LST and cut slits in the sides of the pot and that way you can alway pull tighter it you need to or even loosen up very easily and its soft..
heres a pic of the LST earlier on so you can see what im talking about

i agree.. go ahead and start your LST.. i am glad that the nutes worked so quick.. bet you were cheesin for a minute after lookin at her this morning... clothers hanger hooks are fine to lst with.. anything that holds the branches down work... and as was said you wont know sex until about 10 to 14 days into 12/12 cycle...

thanks for the pic bighitter, if i find some yarn ill do that instead for sho.

ya sampson i was pretty excited :P

what side should i bend at? does it make a difference?

I did it! i used a bent coat hanger. the other contraction was a floss pick with the floss cut out attached to the straw. i thought i was gonna need it at the bend but it ends up being smaller than i thought. let me know what u think.

PS- should i center the lights over the pot or the plant?

And is it bad that the leaves are touching the soil?

looks good... good start to things at least.. should produce you a nice little bush for sure!!

you when you bend dont force her to do what she doesnt want to.. you can always tighten down the branches as you need.. but if you break one off there is no putting it back on.. so just be gentle when you are bendin and tieing...

try to put the light centered over the pot as best as possible... itll just give you the best coverage of your girl...

oh, and the leaves will be fine.. in a few days they will pretty much fix themselves so they arent touching... sotra like solar panels moving to follow the sun... your leaves will start laying flat to catch the most light it can...

Next morning, plant picked itself up and looking pretty, but should i LST more already? the two big branches are covering the smaller ones, i feel like i wanna tie them down or something and completely expose the stem.

advice,comments?

oh yea.. you want to start seperating the plant as much as possible... try to get the branches as much apart as you can so you can start training them the way you want.. as the plant tries to correct itself you have to gently move them back and retie them... after a few days they will stop fighting you and you can tie them into place for good..

Today i decided to separate some of the bigger fan leaves so the growth would get more light. hows it look?

there is one big fan leaf (the one with the nitrogen def damage) that is completely pushed into the soil. should i just cut this one off?

btw, 4 days ago i switched to 2x 26 watt CFL's and 2x 28 watt CFL's.

looks good... the more you can spread apart the better off you'll be... keep them lights as close as possible too..

the leaf that is in the soil can just be pulled out of the soil.. be gentle.. if it tears a little no biggy.. but leave them on their for her...

Plant is starting to bush out, side growth growing. I did more LST today and pulled back the rest of the fan leaves to completely expose the stem. Hows everything look? (i know the tape is ghetto, i couldnt cut hole or slits into the pot its too thick)

at what point in this LST should i worry about hurting the plant? have i done too much too quick?

thanks for all advice!

LST looks good.. girls lookin nice and healthy.. a way around the tape is to purchase some small eye hooks and screw them into the sides of the pot.... just a suggestion... but everythings lookin good.. keep it up!

Not much has changed. Plant has grown a little bit, especially the side growth. I havent watered my plant in almost a week, moister meter says its still wet. I know theres a point where ur supposed to start watering it more often, when is that?

also due to time restraints im probably gonna end up starting 12/12 within a couple weeks. what saay youu

once your girl overcomes her nute def and is back to healthy she will start using more water.. right now is sort of a repairing period.. plus since you watered before the soil was dry, and your soil doesnt drain as well, it has a LOT of moisture in it.. in the next few days she will catch up and then you'll start watering her more often and shit.. no worrries bro...

if you have to start 12/12 then thats fine.. you'll still get about 2 weeks worth of growth into flowerin anyways... so that will add a lot to your girls size..

Still nothing new. Plant has grown surprisingly very little in the past couple days.

Question : How long will the fertilizer water in my 2 liter bottle stay good for? at what point should i wash it out and put new water and nutes in?

any further advice on LST, or anything else i need to know is highly appreciated
