Is it wrong for a Christian to Smoke Weed.

It seems as if anymore Catholics aren't allowed to do anything "out of the ordinary" to bring themselves joy.

Care to explain why? Opinions are welcome and abundant here, but it'd be nice to hear the logic behind the statement. :peace:
i think what airman is trying to say is that Catholics as apposed to protestant, baptist, Methodist, etc is that they have very strict rules and the church fallows them to a T. there are no gray lines. and church and law are so intertwined that anything thats against the law Catholics are against. but the use of marijuana is not against the bibe but it is against the law of the land.

Thank you. :joint:

Sometimes I struggle trying to find the words to explain things.

It seems Catholics actually take joy out of the guilt they're meant to feel for any number of 'sins'. The joy of being Catholic is the joy of being drowned in your own guilt.

I thought i posted a reply but i guess it didnt go through but anyways thanks for the replies. It makes me glad to see that there are other logical people out there who have the same genral ideas i do. I think marijuana has helped my life in many aspects and now has helped me want to pursue something with our creator idk whats gonna happen next but i feel alot happier about the future and alot less depressed. Thanks guys.

not being a christian...what the hell is in holy water? or mainly what the hell makes holy water holy? i assume it has to be blessed by a priest but is that it?

yeah...that's it!!! Booga booga...ipso facto...holy.

When I was in KINDERGARTEN (catholic) the nun would give us communion wafers as a treat if we behaved. She made it a point to make sure we understood they weren't "blessed"... Ripoff!

out. :blsmoke:

As long as it does not interfere with your relationship with God and Christ, then I cannot see it as wrong. There is biblical principle relating to being intoxicated all the time, but it also gives plenty of examples of enjoying fruits of the earth. This is just my opinion and while it works for me, it is something you are going to have to judge for yourself.

The bible is riddled with examples referring to an "herb" or more specifically something called "kaneh bosom."

Here are some examples. These are commonly referred to by the Rastafari movement.

  • Genesis 1:11 "And God said, Let the earth bring forth grass, the herb yielding seed, and the fruit tree yielding fruit after his kind, whose seed is in itself, upon the earth: and it was so."
  • Genesis 1:29 "And God said, Behold, I have given you every herb bearing seed, which is upon the face of all the earth, and every tree, in the which is the fruit of a tree yielding seed; to you it shall be for meat."
  • Genesis 3:18 "... thou shalt eat the herb of the field."
  • Proverbs 15:17 "Better is a dinner of herbs where love is, than a stalled ox and hatred therewith."
  • Psalms 104:14 "He causeth the grass to grow for the cattle, and herb for the service of man."

I would also recommend checking out this sight. It puts marijuana's use into perspective. Makes it difficult for conservative claims thats its use is a modern practice.
