Mg may work and all, but I'm telling you. The rate of your plant growin' into a beautiful lady with it is waaay lower than useing organic soils. Mg has way to many chemical bullshit that I wouldn't subject my girls too and eventually put into my lungs, no thank you.

Oh and it's pot growers like you that give the rest of us a bad name.
You need to smoke a joint and relax dude, you're simply a dick.
Talkin' about you needhelp.

I am currently on my first grow using MG (mixed with MG perlite 2:1) and wanted to get a sense of how often you water your plants. I was using the cycle from "Grow Buds for Less" but I am going to be in flower longer and he basically waters once every 10 days which seems odd (not in the beginning though).

I know that over watering would be deadly with MG (or anything else for that matter) so I do not want to do that. Right now they are about 7 days old, one is 10 days old. I gave them all about a cup of water today and they are all looking good. Just want to keep them healthy and strong. Want to veg until they are a foot before I flower. each plant has 2 23w CFL (3200 lumes).

Any advice is welcome. Check them out.:weed:

First one is 10 days
The other three are 8 days (the last one was the smallest when germinating)

i found miracle grow worked great from seed, but once i repot into a larger pot it was too much and burned my biggest plant. all i added was worm castings...

thanx asshole... all these pics surrounding you, but still convinced yourself other wise... its growers like you that makes pot lovers look stupid in the general publics eye... you lack simple understanding... people like you are jerks and are a waste of my time...

did you come in here for a reason...

i guess not... you came in here to bash MG, but who are you really trying to kid... no one is listening to you... i see many people who is happy with what they have and are capable of making decisions on what soil to use.. so grab some gardening tools and stuff all the organic soil you want up your ass and shut the hell up you little fairy...

i start seedlings in cups... by doing this i spray them (squeezing the trigger 5 times) twice a day, every 12 hours... the 5 squirts is enough for the soil to stay moist for a few hours and gives it enough time to get dry before its next spray... this is my new method of watering actually, i don't pour water in them until they are a certain age or size... spraying works for me for like a month or a little bit over a month.. it helps the roots spread out nice and slowly and doesn't cause overwatering... when i use to just pour the water in, it would mess everything up and i would also notice it was hard to judge when to water and the roots would rush to the bottom to get to the water, which would cause me to transplant early eventually.... now, by spraying, i'm growing them larger in smaller containers before transplanting and eliminated my watering issues...

but also, keep in mind, the temp also effects how fast the soil dries up, so it works for me that i spray it twice because my temp is in the low 80's

yeah man.. you got the right idea...

don't pay attention to the negative things said... by looking through this thread, you'll see all kinds of proof the stuff works...not saying its the greatest... but with the right mixture and not over doing things... you'll have success... nice pics

i now use a soil by Scotts, the owners of MG, called Hyponex... i also heard neg stuff about it, but i'm hardheaded...ha

i needed a new mixture for the seedlings since the 3 month release was all wrong, since seedlings don't need nutes and the 3 month release is better for when the plants need the food... since the Hyponex is cheap shit and doesn't have any NPK, i just mix this half and half with this tropical soil mix that i always used with the MG...

seems like the seedlings are responding better than i thought... i dont use the perlite for the seedlings because they also have nutes and i really don't need perlite until the first transplant...

so when its time for the 1st transplant.. i'll mix MG Perlite, a little bit of MG 3 month release, Hyponex and the tropical soil mix

then for the final transplant... same mixture but with cow manure... they are responding quite nicely...better than i thought

i also noticed if i put the plants in the sun for a few hours every other day, not every day, you'll notice the plants will get a little taller, a thicker stem and healther looking leaves in a few hours... not recommending it since i read it causes stress... but like i said, i only do it for a few hours, every other day... i was really amazed... like for instance... the plant leaves would be droopy, once i take it out of the box and leave it in the sun for a few hours... the plant would actually be taller, thicker stem and the leaves would be sticking out by the time i get back to put it back in the box... ha... really surprised me...but like i said... don't recommend it

I am a new grower who purchased a huge sack of MG then read all the stuff about it burning plants/killing plants and giving it a bad taste.

I have to say, My top 44 absolutely loves it! I havnt used any ferts for the first 20 days and now I have started using ferts for the flowering stage. I have found no problems with miracle grow, however i had some catnip growing in cheap supermarket soil and it must have been infested with insects when i bought it because within a week or so it was crawling with tiny, flying insects.

thats good to know...

as far as supermarket soil... never thought of purchasing from a supermarket before... when i spotted the hyponex it was next to the MG... and it was $2 for the bag, so i said f- it, why not... so far, no critters and no complaints

i heard of organic soils having this problem

The only thing you need to know about the fertz is the 3 numbers that appear on the label such as 24-18-19 this number tells you of the amount of each of the newtz. MG has a wide verity of potencies; I use 2 different types of MG, 1 for veg and another for flowering. I've never had problems with fert burn using MG products, also note that Parts Per Million (PPM) is very important when handling your fertz. this will let you know if your hardly using any at all or way too much.

i have always wondered what the PPM stood for or what it was for...

hmmmm.... might consider getting the meter if thats the case

What kind of miracle grow medium are you using?

I have an 11L bag of Miracle Grow Premium Potting Mix, 0.14-0.14-0.14, It says on the back its actually a soilless blend of bark fines, sphagnum peat moss and perilite. Says it is pH balanced, and I checked the pH of the runnoff and it was between 5.5 - 6. From seedling my babies did great. Then I did a repot and added a little worm castings and bam the bigger one started getting burned.

Any advice would be nice since in the start she was a nice lookin baby.

the plant on the left in the photo was repotted wth regular soil with nothing it in. its a sandy, drt mixture with low amounts of perilite. that ones doing awsome but i dont like the dirt when its dried up... i like the miracle grow when it dried.
