Some strains should not be FIMed or topped otherwise it can do the exact opposite and it can harm the plant.

When trying to FIM keep in mind what FIM actually stands for,

FIM = Fuck I Missed

So that should tell you that getting the best results from FIMing is not that easy and is a bit of trial and error untill you get the hang of it.

A clone (taken in veg) is an exact genetic replica of the mother plant. The potency will be the same as the mother plant or even higher because it has the resin production of a plant that is the same age as the mother, even though it's a "new" plant.

When people lose potency it is because they've taken their clones when the mother is in flower. Taking a clone while in 12/12 and then forcing it back to the veg cycle is what changes the potency and weakens it and the plants genetics too.

If you only clone vegging plants, and never plants that are on 12/12, your plants won't lose genetic quality or potency.

yeah u gotta try keep the origional mother plant ia what i meant...
cos if you use the mother plasnts clone, to make a clone and then make take that clone your new mother plant.....

then you cut a clone off that mother plaant and somehow that mother plant either gets finished or fucked up... and that clone becomes the next mother plant...

what im trying to say if this was to happen to someone would or wouldnt the end potency and quality of the smoke ultimately deteriorate... meaning wont be as good as the very first ORIGIONAl mum...

did i explain that better, i dunno its just something i heard.... its a lot harder to interperate into words and writing than it is to tell some one to theyre face lol...

you can take clones earlie in flower flower too it works plus u know itl be female, but its deffinately better to take them from veg,& take a cutting and turn it to sex the plant :)

cool i think i understand a bit better now the post i read scared me tho.... ive been worrying ive fucked up all this time after i heard that....

the info seemed pretty proffessional scared me a little as to weve had to clone clones and there clones and ect a few times....

plus the amount we all smoke we kinda get used to it almost immune so i started thinking rather than im building up a tolerance maybe our weed dropped down some grades...

good ta know i dont have to worry about that anymore..... thanks again your a champion :)

Nat they look very nice and they are so clean without much leaves. What strain is it?
That is one of my own hybrids.
I crossed my own tall mostly sativa hybrid(i never named it).

Leaves are gone because i always trim excess leaves away as "i dont believe" indoor plants need as many and i get bud from bottom to top.
Many people disagree with me on the leaf removal subject and it is true that some variety's wont like it so you need to test it out for yourself.:weed:

man i like the plant.... that i do thats def +repworthy :)

i trim some leaves too. but agree pick your plant wisely.... thats good advise...

how and when do you cut it back????

I just take leaves of all the way through the grow but only here and there as i see fit.
Its an exp thing really and i try to only remove a few a day at most to expose other bud sites and allow some light to get nearer to the bottom of the plant:leaf:

what stage in life do you first top it do you go by time or nodes & technique????

sorry but im trying ta give everyone an idea of how to achieve certain structures i spose and how to go about it for noobs....

fimming cant be too hard i had an outdoor plant once that something fimmed for me but bugs and that arent that smart so yeah with this eventually people can use this as a guide on how there gonna wanna train theyre plants and what shapes they wanna achieve...

time and typ of topping method all influence this...

thanks for all the answers so far people... you guys are champions for helping me get this much done...

I have 2 old threads here that explain everything i do in great detail.
I had to remove all of my pics, unfortunately, from the grow thread.
The second thread link has a rar pack of plenty of hd pics of my grow where i show exactly where and how to cut/fimm amongst other things.:leaf:

I like to "FIM" about 1 week before flowering

how does this make your plant develope ????

i do the same thing but i tip at that stage.... just gives me a more bushie plaant with more bud sites and a better yield.. as expained in my fist post :)
