@hotrodharley .... we had tried to do a cruise 2019, 2020, (Covid and shit), but did the RV thing in 2021... we're cruising this time. I really liked the RV thing from Anchorage to Homer over a period of 12 days.... It truly is the Last Frontier. I've never seen such majestic scenery (nature wise).. I had my Pro camera as we were driving down the Seward Hwy.. and I thought about taking pics of the mountains with snow on top with greenery on the great divides....but, I thought, "Nobody is going to see what I see in a photo"... so I put my camera away, and stood by this magnificent view every 50 miles or so, and took It all in... It was fucking fantastic.

I know I arrived in Alaska at midnight. Like most people flying here. Next day I was blown away from Anchorage. Chugach Mountains right there covered in snow. Frigging moose everywhere in the city. It was April before the clouds cleared enough that I saw Denali from the old Glenn Highway between Eagle River and Butte. Incredible place.

I can't remember the town we were in north of Anchorage, but we had a rare view of Mt. McKinley with little cloud cover....it was awesome.

I think the No votes happened because so many voters don't like the way medical rolled out. They weren't expecting to see dispos on every corner and grows all over rural areas. They didn't imagine that it would be so prolific everywhere you go, and they don't like it. It's been overwhelming for people who don't consume cannabis and who had no previously been exposed to it in another legal state.

SQ820.... Just depends on which end of the stick you're on. If you're a grower, you don't want rec., it's just going to make your product harder to sell, and would continue the price plunge. Oklahoma is practically rec anyways. You can legally hop Dispensaries all day long and grab 3oz of bud, 1 oz of concentrate, and 72oz of edibles in one stop. This has fueled the BM. A lot of people don't want to mess with getting a Patient Card, so they just buy from someone who does and pay a little more to them for thier trouble.... and pay just 7% tax instead of 15%(rec) tax. So... alot of the votes came from Bible Belters, and BM consumers so they didn't have to pay twice the tax to get weed. Oklahoma already produces more weed than any other State... it's fucking everywhere.
Other end of the stick... I've kinda seen this split between Dispensary Owners. It might bring in more business, but not likely, and they would have to charge more to the end user, file more paperwork, pay more in fees to the State, and they have a hard enough time moving product to Card Holders (med)... we actually saw a 12,600 drop in Card Holders from Feb 22' to Feb 23'. A lot of people just grow at home too. It's not like the popo is gonna come knocking on your door. They have just given up on looking for weed, they got better things to do.

Oklahoma can't sell to tourists and out of state residents. Rec you would open a new market. Charge much more. Colorado is basically medical for residents which is slow but rec does a ton of business. Imagine a rec dispensary on the state line with Texas.
Common sense for growers to want rec especially surrounded by black market states.
Colorado rec stores charge twice what med shop charges.

Texans do this anyways. They have a Oklahoma cardholder friend near the boarder, meet up and the Texans take it back across the border. I've been seeing TX plates all along the Southern boarder when I was out slinging weed to Dispo's. Rec is not going to change anything but line the State's pockets of which we still don't know where millions of dollars go every year... they keep that a secret.

I feel one reason was alot of lost support from those that supported the Medical. No one was expecting a dispensary on every corner. Here in my town of 36K we have over 40 dispensaries. There are 15' x 40' billboards on the highways. You cant pick up any piece of printed material without seeing dispensary ads. I think people voted for the benefits of medical for compassionate reasons but every since its been crammed down everyone's throats in massive advertising in every possible form from an oversaturated and ultra competitive market. Makes the town look trashy and city officials feel new employers wont relocate to their area. You go downtown and see a mural of Merle two stories high (on the side of a dispensary) saying "we do smoke marijuana in Muskogee" The old post office we had for 60 years is now a commercial op. You cant go anywhere downtown without smelling growing cannabis blowing up the streets from the post office. Our city government spoke out against this saying we would not be able to attract new business and to not support SQ820. I think many mid-sized communities feel the same way.

Rec might have worked IF they would have put caps on growers, dispensaries, processors, etc. Same thing in my town of 22K people, and we have about 28 Dispos now.... it's just too much. This was a disaster with SQ788. It created a doomed market from the start.
