its hard to fool the better laboratories. alot depends on the type of testing they are doing, and if they are shipping it off to a fancy lab or not.
home tests are a joke. I don't know many institutions that use basic tests like that anymore, aside from ones that are handling internal issues with clients/patients/inmates.
Most people on probation/parole have their urine sent to labs. Not all, but most.
I used urine luck once. I was in luck as the probation violation I got from pissing dirty when I used it wasn't too hard and my probation ended at the same time it would have, I just had to finish it spending some time at the county jail for 1 1/2 months.
I also passed about 50 tests during my 2 years on probation. Some of them I actually was pissing clean as I had been unwillingly kept from contraband. But when I needed to pass tests the best method for me was to use clean urine from a donor, to be kept at 98.6-99 degrees by a hand warmer heating pad. I'm sure everyone has seen the kits one time or another in HT or another mag. For me the testing was all done in a private room. I had no problems beating them. Except for the time I could not get the urine in time when I was called down unexpectedly, so I relied on urine luck and failed miserably.
Anyways, I also used this little gadget when being watched several times. Once pretty closely. worked great. I think you can buy clean dehydrated urine online too.
sort of a gross subject, but a lot nicer than waking up each morning in jail.
also on the subject of niacin. While in one institution the ability to smoke weed was there. but drug testing was also random and frequent. Many of the inmates would take niacin, thinking it was going to save them. you'd see them sweating out their final days before they locked the facility down and the sheriffs came to grab them up. lol. Total urban legend there, very urban.
