Jordan of the islands

I got 1 good blueberry plant out of a 13 pack. 9 of 13 were males.

Jordan, or whoever is acting as jordan, can't be bothered speaking directly to customers. He's a useless halfwit. He can fond time to make passes at any females he finds attractive though...

Fuck joti. Waste of money.
Yeah, the tone of JOTI on IG seems like some twenty something based on his words and stupid posts. He's like a 50-60 year old guy and highly doubt he'd be hitting on Asian females a quarter of his age over IG.

All the latest crosses I see w/ other brands reek of pollen chucking desperation and the classic original JOI strains (God,Blue God,Purps, etc.) are hollowed out shadows of themselves IMO.

Im glad I skipped JOTI this year, went with Lucky13 Seeds instead, it's looking like a very wise decision.
Things have changed so much, once the US had some states legalize and all kinds of seedbanks popped up in the states, the variety increased exponentially. The # of diff. strains coming out is dizzying now,I remember when Attitude was the go to,now their stock looks frozen in time.

What strains did you get? I've got a few lucky13s just starting some Romulan from them.
I am running their GDP ibl, Island Sweet Skunk and the Dirty Dancing.. I will pick picking up the Deep SIx, Pineapple Poundcake and a couple more here soon. So far I am impressed with Lucky13, the GDP you can tell is a worked ibl, every plant on that strain looks and smells the same. The Dirty Dancing is developing this tropical scent, its rather nice.. looking forward to seeing how they run this year.

Last year I ran JOTI and I also tried Remo Nutrients, this was an all around shit show, it turned out to be my worst grow in 16 years, Im not blaming the genetics, but out of 4 strains from JOTI I didn't keep any of them and as far as Remo Nutrients goes, Ill never run that nutrient line ever again. I switched over to full organic since then and this years run is back on track.

Very nice. I'm hopeful to get 1 Male from the Romulan so I can make more lol

I would not mind running their romulan, a buddy of mine has their Space Queen, I might try to get a few beans off him of that one, so far with Lucky13 you can tell he actually works his lines and doesn't seem to just chuck plants around.

I'm buying those GDP if yours turn out.

I'm following you on Instagram too lolol funny finding you here as well
Their GDP so far is impressing me, they are still a ways out but they are easy to manage and super uniform, they all look the same "out of the whole pack".

I will be starting up a journal here soon so I can keep track of things, I have a ton of things going on this spring and summer so I want to log my run this year and maybe be able to keep track of them better..

As a fan of Island Sweet Skunk hybrids, I took a look at Lucky13 hoping for a source of pure Island Sweet Skunk. Instead of having the original cut, it looks like he just 'reproduced' the original cross of Skunk #1 x Grapefruit...so it's just an F1 hybrid, not the actual, stabilized, Island Sweet Skunk?

Yeah its a reproduction with a different grapefruit and his 1985 skunk#1 IBL, it is an F1 so there is a pheno hunt with this strain

I would argue that the # of diff. strains (actually cultivars) coming out now in the USA is making us lose the actual stabilized strains we used to have. All the cookies, gelatos, dosis and breathe strains (cough *cultivars*) are unstable f1's. What's worse, is they aren't f1's from actual stable strains, they are f1's from cultivars of other f1's. It was some pretty good marketing on behalf of the American breeders to popularize 'pheno hunting' as a method of covering the fact they are selling unstabilized cultivars to customers spending hundreds of dollars. This is the root of JOTI's problems, for incorporating those unstable cultivars into his line-up...and now his reputation is paying for it through massive numbers of reports of hermies and unstable genetics. Instead of staying on the 'stable lines' train, he jumped on the 'hype train' and went over the cliff with it.

Definitely. Pollen chucking hype strains is much easier and more profitable than breeding several cultivars to IBL. The demand from customers also has a huge influence. So many new people are getting into growing with legalization and what not. Everyone is chasing that next product drop looking for fire crosses.

Can't blame breeders for giving customers what they want. Many growers like all the variation and being able to select keepers that appeal to their tastes and needs. Homogenized inbred lines have their place, but don't appeal to everyone's needs....not everyone wants to pop a pack and have all plants turn out similarly.

Speaking of IG, I just saw him promoting himself on another small Canadian breeders page yesterday. Some comment like "If you want bomb genetics, get God Bud from JOTI" with one like- from JOTI himself. So what, does he have fake accounts to hype his own brand, or just the time on a Sunday afternoon to check every comment on IG tagging him?

I just went to take a screenshot, but the poster looks like he removed the comment.

He has a big enough operation that I'm sure he has people handling social media duties for him - I think you are reading way too much into it. He'd be in his late 50s or early 60s now, probably has no time or desire to deal with people on social media platforms - you probably saw posts by an overzealous 20-something person running his accounts for him.
