Report: Prosecutors Have Obtained Damning Information Allegedly Implicating Trump in His Company’s Crimes | Vanity Fair

REPORT: PROSECUTORS HAVE OBTAINED DAMNING INFORMATION ALLEGEDLY IMPLICATING TRUMP IN HIS COMPANY’S CRIMES

So that can’t be great news for the ex-president.

After literal decades of avoiding any and all consequences for a life of corruption that has included everything from inciting an attack on the U.S. Capitol to attempting to extort Ukraine, to allegedly directing his lawyer to violate campaign finance laws, to lying to the public about COVID-19, to allegedly stiffing hundreds of contractors, is Donald Trump actually going to be held accountable for running a company accused of, among other things, conspiracy, grand larceny, and multiple counts of tax fraud and falsifying records? On the one hand, he never has, so why would anyone expect it to happen now? On the other, thanks to the work of Manhattan prosecutors and helpful witnesses, he appears to be closer than ever to a situation in which he spends numerous years in prison!

Weeks after the Trump Organization and its longtime CFO, Allen Weisselberg, were hit with a slew of criminal charges, for which the latter faces more than a decade in prison and to which they both pleaded not guilty, the Daily Beast reports that Weisselberg‘s ex-daughter-in-law, who’s been extremely helpful to Cyrus Vance Jr.’s office thus far, provided the Manhattan D.A.’s office with explosive information concerning Donald Trump’s involvement in the crimes his company and longtime employee have been accused of committing.

According to reporter Jose Pagliery, during a Zoom call with investigators on June 25, Jennifer Weisselberg, who was previously married to Allen’s son Barry Weisselberg, told investigators that she was in Trump’s office at Trump Tower during a January 2012 meeting in which the real estate developer discussed compensation with Allen and Barry, explaining that while the latter would not be getting a raise, his children’s private school tuition, which clocked in at more than $50,000 a year per child, would be paid for. According to Jennifer Weisselberg, Trump turned to her and allegedly said, “Don’t worry, I’ve got it covered.” While that might sound like an instance of the ex-president being an uncharacteristically generous guy, prosecutors have claimed that Allen Weisselberg was awarded numerous fringe benefits over the years—like a free apartment, cars, and, yes, private school tuition—for the express purpose of avoiding paying taxes. Which, according to the indictment against him, he did, to the tune of $900,000.

According to two sources, among the prosecutors on the call were Carey Dunne, the Manhattan DA’s general counsel; Mark F. Pomerantz, a white collar crime specialist brought on for this investigation; and Gary Fishman, an assistant attorney general deputized to work on this joint investigation. If true, Jennifer Weisselberg’s claims would directly tie Trump to what a New York criminal indictment described as a corporate scheme to pay executives “in a matter that was ‘off the books.’”

“The scheme allowed the Trump Organization to evade the payment of payroll taxes that [it] was required to pay,” an indictment for the Trump Organization claims. On the flip side, it also alleges that executives avoided having to pay income taxes on a huge chunk of their pay…. The indictment, filed the very next week on June 30, does not criminally charge Trump as an individual, but it does describe how he signed checks that paid for the Weisselberg children to attend an expensive private school in Manhattan’s Upper West Side. While longtime chief financial officer Allen Weisselberg could be crucial to a criminal case against Trump, it’s Jennifer Weisselberg—his former daughter-in-law—who’s thus far been more helpful. Prosecutors have already used documents in Jennifer Weisselberg’s divorce case to explore how Trump paid more than $50,000 a year, starting in 2012, for the kids to attend the Columbia Grammar and Preparatory School.

...
it's not just Federal Income tax either it's also NY State, City and Local- States are a bitch too because they know they get ripped off all the time. Allen hid his place of residence to avoid all of the above- way worse than the IRS, states are..way, way worse.

Trump PAC has not used any of the $75M its raised this year to help fund election audits: report
Former President Trump’s leadership PAC has not yet used any of the roughly $75 million raised to help finance election reviews, The Washington Post reported Thursday.

The PAC was formed after the 2020 election to help fund the Trump team's efforts to challenge results.

Yet people familiar with the PAC’s finances told the news outlet that the committee has held onto much of the money, while a portion has been used to pay for some of Trump’s expenses, including travel and legal costs, as well as staff pay.

The PAC, which will need to publicly disclose its fundraising and spending for the first half of the year by July 31, previously reported in Federal Election Commission filings earlier this year that it had collected nearly $31.2 million by the end of 2020.

The details shared by the sources, who spoke to the Post on the condition of anonymity to describe the group’s finances, come as Trump has continued to advance false claims of a stolen 2020 election, and has through his PAC sent out statements supporting election audits, including the ongoing one in Arizona’s Maricopa County.

“There was no victory here, or in any other of the Swing States either,” the former president wrote in one of the messages shared by the Save America PAC.

Inside the Trump Org Money Man's Interview with Investigators
Jeff McConney, a high-ranking accountant at the Trump Organization, has reportedly already testified before the special grand jury in New York that yielded a criminal indictment against the company. But as prosecutors look at additional charges, never-before-seen testimony from McConney during an earlier civil case four years ago shows that while this Trump insider quickly acknowledges when the company runs afoul of the law, he does his best to protect the boss.....

Michael Cohen Thinks Kushner Has Already Flipped on Trump (businessinsider.com)

Michael Cohen says he thinks Jared Kushner has already flipped on Trump
  • Michael Cohen said he thought Jared Kushner had flipped on his father-in-law, Donald Trump.
  • New York prosecutors are pursuing a criminal investigation into Trump's business empire.
  • Cohen said it was noteworthy that Kushner's name had been absent in proceedings so far.
Michael Cohen, Donald Trump's former personal attorney, said he thought Jared Kushner had already flipped on his father-in-law as the criminal investigation into Trump's business empire intensifies.

Cohen did not offer any evidence but said he thought that was the case because of how little Kushner had been mentioned.

Cohen tweeted on Wednesday that Kushner's name had been absent from "all the controversy, indictments and arrests" related to the investigation. He speculated that this was because Kushner was already cooperating with prosecutors.

"Interesting how @jaredkushner (#SecretaryOfEverything) name appears to be absent from all the controversy, indictments and arrests," Cohen tweeted. "Is he next to fall or a cooperating witness? Knowing what a snake he is, I bet the latter!"

Cohen was one of Trump's most trusted confidants, but their relationship deteriorated in 2017. Federal prosecutors investigated Cohen over hush-money payments made to women who said they had affairs with Trump and over Cohen's comments to Congress about Trump's business dealings in Russia.

Cohen pleaded guilty to federal crimes including lying to Congress, tax evasion, and bank fraud. Cohen, who is serving the rest of his sentence under house arrest, has become one of Trump's most vocal critics.

Cohen has cooperated with prosecutors and provided evidence against his former boss since at least 2019 in a bid for a more lenient sentence.

Representatives for Kushner did not immediately respond to Insider's request for comment.

On July 1, the Manhattan district attorney's office issued a 15-count indictment against the Trump Organization and Allen Weisselberg, its chief financial officer, including charges of grand larceny and tax fraud. Prosecutors described a years-long scheme by executives at the company to avoid taxes.

The indictment against Weisselberg twice listed an unnamed co-conspirator, leading to speculation that one of Trump's immediate family members could be the next to face charges.

Weisselberg, one of Trump's most trusted staffers, had told prosecutors that he would not flip on his boss, The Washington Post reported in June.

Commentators have since speculated that the prospect of criminal charges and prison time could tempt members of Trump's family to turn on him.

Cohen alleged in June that Kushner and his wife, Ivanka Trump, had been involved in creating false documentary evidence on Donald Trump's behalf. No evidence of that has emerged.

Mary Trump, the former president's estranged niece, has speculated that Ivanka could be persuaded to provide evidence against her father.

"As counterintuitive as this might sound, I think Ivanka has, one, more to lose, and, two, more to hang on to. Her husband's family is legitimately very wealthy," she told The Daily Beast earlier in July.

I would like to ask a question.

Do people actually believe that the democratic party didn't cheat and Joe Biden actually won the election?

or

Do they know the democratic party did cheat, yet, just don't care, because Trump is out of the white house?

I'm just trying to gauge, the intelligence level, of people posting on this thread. People come here to learn grow techniques, from intelligent, experienced growers. Wouldn't want them taking advise, from individuals that may be braindead.

Funny how the Democrats cheated in Arizona and Georgia when both states that ran the election were Republicans. That Trump's DOJ said there not enough cheating to change any result. Why not just discuss current cheating in plane sight, the Republicans that are rewriting voting laws?

Go away troll.

Looks like they moved Tom's bail hearing up to today from Monday, so he doesn't have to spend the weekend in an LA jail cell. I wonder if it's an indication of his willingness to cooperate with the feds on other matters concerning bigger fish?

Unless he can sell Trump's ass to the feds, he's gone for good and at 74 will get out in a bag. He's the guy who recommended Manafort to Trump as campaign manager, I wonder why, so will others.

Tom Barrack to Appear in California Court for Bail Hearing
  • Barrack, co-defendant have been in jail since Tuesday arrest
  • Trump ally was charged with illegal lobbying on behalf of UAE
Colony Capital founder and Trump ally Thomas J. Barrack Jr. is scheduled to appear before a federal judge in Los Angeles Friday to learn whether he will be released on bail, after his arrest this week on charges of illegally lobbying on behalf of the United Arab Emirates.

Barrack, 74, has been held in a federal jail in Los Angeles since his arrest Tuesday at an office park in Sylmar, California. His Colony Capital associate, Matthew Grimes, 27, was arrested in Santa Monica. U.S. Magistrate Judge Patricia Donahue had ordered both men held in custody while their lawyers worked out bail packages with prosecutors. A hearing on bail, set to begin at 10 a.m. in California, was originally scheduled for July 26 until a last-minute change was announced Thursday night.

Barrack and Grimes are charged with working on behalf of the UAE in a years-long effort to sway Donald Trump’s foreign policy, even before he became president, according to a seven-count felony indictment unsealed in Brooklyn, New York.

Falcon Acquisition Corp., a special purpose acquisition company backed by Barrack’s family office, gave notice Friday that it was withdrawing plans for an initial public offering. The SPAC had sought to raise $250 million to tap Barrack’s experience with “elephant-style” transactions in its search for a merger target.
