Kali Mist - Seed to Stone

No worries, lots of sativas can start out with thicker leaves in the early days.
Mine usually aren't this indica looking so I thought I mislabeled my plants lol!

2046 is the pack that I lost for a year, recently found it in my armchair. It's just a 3-pack and I think they might be fems, but still, gonna pop those soon.
Glad you found them,, they are fems. I had a 3 pack & messed up germinating 2 so this is my keeper plant lol. I'll have to order overseas again which I rather not do. Still have a 3 pack of Y Griega (Amnesia Haze and Kali Mist)

I always germinate in my veg room now so there's some heat to stimulate them. I've had 100% germ rate since doing this. I've lost strains by putting seeds in a cold, dark cupboard or using float tek.

Yeah winter was hard on my seed starting (clones too) smh don't even know why I bothered. I got a heatmat but it was almost too hot for them so I use it for veggie seeds. In warmer temps it's easier to pop more than have to create controlled environment due to lower temps. Tho my chucks always seem to pop no problem lol

My clones root slow in the winter too. I tried a heat mat on some clones once but they started cooking.

The Serious Happiness I'm growing now is Warlock x AK47, but now I'm regretting not growing out one of each of those too. I've been growing out a lot of nostalgia strains lately, like I'm harvesting a Hawaiian Snow tomorrow (One of the best mothers I've found was a HS from 2003, died in a fire a few years later). Warlock kept me and my little group of homies laughing our asses off all through High School! It was one of the best strains I've ever tried for that uplifted feeling where you almost die laughing at an episode of Rocky and Bullwinkle or something. So I saw that name "Serious Happiness" which is extremely corny, and I thought...I wonder if it still has that same effect after all these years?
Hi Rumo,
Do you have a journal here ??

If so can I have the link please?

Respect

Thanks for dropping in Claude! And thank you for the germination diagram, I've been growing 25 years and I still got some good ideas from it.

I'm currently flowering 2 Motivation plants from seed, they stayed short and are budding up nicely. I'll take some pics tonight and post them here.

I can't wait to experience the Motivation stone, couch lock body and soaring mind. Just what I need for work.

I'm at week 6 of flower for these two Motivation (front, Gorilla Glue in back)

Nice chunky buds that start towards the bottom of each cola.

Short plants, around 18" - 20", a dozen colas per plant.

Probably 3 weeks before harvest, then Kali Mist gets the big light.

Description - Motivation

This short/squad-growing Indica plant is the final creation of a long process of development by Magus Genetics. The project combined Sensi Star and Warlock into the ideal indoor plant; during development the genetic lines had names like Starwarz, Medizin Power and London Memories.

A very thick layer of resin glands on the flowers and sugar leaves, makes manucuring less necessary, and gives her a popular presence in every growroom. Excellent variety for indoor and closet rooms with limited height. A powerful aroma, sweet with undertones reminding of fresh paint, developes during the flowering period.

The effect after smoking Motavation is an overwhelming body stonedness, nailing you to the couch while your mind is fueled with a lot of creative ideas. Executing those ideas however will have to wait until the effects wear off. Any 'boring' or 'depressed' feelings will fall away after a hit of Motavation! This plant has strong medicinal properties for pain-relief and relaxation.

Motavation has won its most recent award in September 2013 at the Expogrow-Cup in Irun, Spain. It won FIRST PLACE in the category Indica!

Thanks Mudballs!

My seedlings are working on their 3rd node, as soon as the 4th node is complete I'll top each plant between the third and fourth nodes, then pot up to 6" pots.

I'm not going to catch up with Rurumo but the plants are coming along nicely.

All 4 growing like clones.

End of week 2 of veg:

Each plant is working on it's 5th node, time to top above the third node.

DSC02394.JPG

.

You can see the lower branches growing at even this young age.

If you look at the stem above the third node you can see the start of branches - so I top just below the 4th node to avoid snipping the branches by mistake.

DSC02395.JPG

.

Snipping the top, clip at the top of the stem between the nodes rather than the bottom of the stem between the nodes. Leave a stem stump.

DSC02399.JPG

.

All clipped and ready to veg quietly. In another week (3rd week) I'll up pot to 6 inch pots.

.

I've been fighting powdery mildew near the end of flower (starts 6 weeks in the last couple of grows, so I bought a hydrogen trioxide generator. It's keeping the pm spread to a minimum but it's not a cure by itself - I'm also using Regalia and Dr Zymes Eliminator.

The AirROS runs around $3000 US, if it works like I think it should it'll be worth every penny.

Keep us updated on the Motivation please. I've got a pack that I'd like to get to sooner than later. Mine was labeled as Motavation though, but I think it's the same strain.

Tiflis the two plants in the front are my Motivations, they're at 6 weeks of flower and have a fresh paint smell when the stem is rubbed. They vegged to 15"-16" and stretched in flower to only 18"-20".

DSC02400.JPG

.

I'm hoping to take them two 9 weeks to get the colas firming up but they're both fairly mature now. Lots of dark pistils.

DSC02401.JPG

.

Very easy plant to grow, starting to fade to yellow.

DSC02402.JPG

.

I don't even want to guess the weight per plant, won't be huge but should be decent. I also can't wait to try the stone, sort of the opposite of Kali Mist.

You are correct, it's Motavation, but my auto correct speller changes it to Motivation.

22 days into veg and it's time to up pot. I'm moving up from plastic cups to 6" air pots, they grow some great roots.

DSC02404.JPG

.

I transplant by putting my smaller pot into the larger, then packing soilless around and finally popping out the cup.

DSC02406.JPG

.

DSC02407.JPG

.

DSC02408.JPG

.

Finally the root ball is popped out of the plastic cup by gently squeezing around the cup then gently pushing on the bottom of the cup. If it's not too wet it should pop right out.

DSC02409.JPG

.

After the rootball is lowered into the hole I water the inner rootball. The inner root ball will dry quicker than the outer soilless that hasn't grown roots yet.

Last time I grew Kali was 2010. I would get a serious anxiety attack with just a couple small pipe hits but 15 min later was just really high and buzzing like an angry hornet. The seeds I used were from the old Marc Emery seed bank but not sure of the breeder. Had Durban Poison, Mazar and BC Big Bud as some of the parents but I think there was a couple more so may have been quite different than yours. Damn near pure sativa and grew like one too taking 14 weeks to finish up. The seeds were bought around 2002.

I crossed it with NL#5 and the right pheno worked just right for my depression without the anxiety. Another strain I grew with Mazar worked well too so I just got some Mazar Auto crossed with Gorilla Auto called Mazarilla Auto aka Mazar Fakar from Urban Legends. Was an auction at another site and scored 25 seeds for $70US. Hoping they are here before mid-June so I can plant some outside.

This Kali grown in ProMix HP with AN 3-part and Big Bud.

Looking forward to seeing how yours works out.
