Grain bag to Bulk question...?

1st time bulk tek n I'm using grain bags to bulk...went to break up the bags and instead of breaking into "small pieces" as the tek I was following called for they pretty much crumbled into individual pieces of grain...I then mixed thoroughly with the manure mix I had n followed the rest...my question is will the grain being crumbled up instead of small chunks make a difference or will it still recolonize as normal?20200815_120742.jpg20200815_120750.jpg

That's exactly what you want. More inoculation points. I do damion5050s coir tek with rye and they always break down into just the grains it will be fine. Leave in the dark for like 10 days now I like to actually wait till pre pinning starts then you know it's really ready

Longer than that and you shouldn't be opening the lid till it's consolidated. Most of it should be white

Yeah I was at least planning on waiting until it was covered in white...opened to spray the sides with water...tub has holes so I'm insuring the humidity stays up

The more points of inoculation the better and of course the smaller you break things up the more points you have.

I knew a guy who would take his pf cakes and grate them on a cheese grater and then sprinkle that moist dust all through his substrate. He often got full colonization in a week.

What's this bullshit?...the off white yellowish patches...someone on the Shroomery suggests its "matting"...dying from being too wet or dry...which it's been neither I've kept her lightly misted with tiny droplets no pooling...temp/ humidity gauge in tub says 99% n 78degrees regularly....
But still those patches don't look right to me

Ive never gotten past this stage of trying to grow shrooms. the none white mold is not a good sign from my under standing.
it was looking so good too. hope for the best i suppose maybe its no big deal?

Yeah she was pluggin along really nice...idk why or what these patches are...
Hopefully she'll just do her thing...I did have a fan moving air thru the closet for a plant that's on the other side of closet...but the humidity inside the tub has stayed in the high 90s...
In my experience nature finds a way to pull thru so I'm hoping this shroom tub has the desire n will to live I've given it the best environment that I can
