Was planning on getting a cool tube hps. Will be a bit hot but fine assuming you can keep the temps under control
Want to mix up the light type to get different spectrum coverage. Why not try 2x315 cmh? With batwing reflectors you have near perfect 4x4 spread and only use the power of one 600hps aprox.
With CMH your plants will have an easier time standing higher temps as the % of infrared is much lower. We did ok in upt 30C (about 90F??).
Going to try to.Whew thats a lot of light in a 4x4 square. lol I wanna see what you do with that, yield and quality potential are there. You doing a grow journal?
Its debatable if hos truly is more bang for your buck at this point imo. I'm a big fan of hps, but I recently added cmh. This is my 3rd run under my 315 and I think it outyeilded the same strain vs my 600 this run. Still waiting on the final weight from the 600 but the 315 looked to produce more. A quality 600 hps setup is gonna be 200-300, and a 315 cmh is 300.Want to mix up the light type to get different spectrum coverage.
Not worried about temps.
Located in a basement.
73F year round with plenty of useable fresh air for circulation.
Plus,
HPS gets you more bang for your buck dollar/wattage wise.
I've ran up to 1600 watts in a 4x4 lol a 1kw hps and 600 true watt burple years ago. It did amazing. I had more equipment than space at the time hahaWhy not just get a closer match up and run a 400w hps, with this would give you more balanced lighting without one light over powering the other.
With the 600 + 315 combined I think you'll be at least 100 watts over powered for that space, but it's your call, me personally I wouldn't use more than 7-800watts for that space ideally, but with the 915 watts you'd be using 57watts per square foot so it's kind of up in the air as to how much energy you want to release into a 4x4.

How well would it work?
Net is 48x48x68

Yeah,I'd say screw the tent unless you want it for veg space in the same area you're flowering in.
I grow in a basement room that's 7x9ft and the 12 plants I have flowering now take up about 4x5' of that space. Gives me room to shuffle the plants around when watering etc. Smooth cement floor so they slide around like curling stones. I have them under a 940W Hortilux conversion bulb riding on a Light Rail 4.0 to get great coverage.

Yeah,
I could definiley go for my basement to look something like that.
Now that I think about it I'm leaning towards just getting another 315W CMH. Keep it simple and all.
Think that will have enough kick to get a healthy yield?
Just really dont want to spend the time and effort to get great buds, but only a z or 2 per plant...
The girls seem to really be liking the CMH after 1 week...

I think youre right. Separate hanging heights just make it more complicated. 2 cmh315 damn near maxes the space. We found that 400w (or 3 for 2 ratio) of cmh out/same yields HPS as long as you use a flowering spectrum.Yeah,

I run x2 CMH 315w's and 1 1kw HPS in a 6.5x6.5x6.5ft tent for flower. It works wonderfully. I put the HPS in between each 315W CMH light, and it mixes the deep orange red and blue/green spectrum perfectly. OldMedUser, what kind of light is your 940w? Regular HID, or is it more of a CMH? Thanks in advance buddy.
I run a single 1000 HPS in a 4’X4’ tent. It’s powered just right. No issues. In an air cooled hood. Why not just get a closer match up and run a 400w hps, with this would give you more balanced lighting without one light over powering the other.
