I have a new HLG-240h-48A - could you pls tell me how to adjust the driver I will need it about half power to start with and there are 2 trim pots I can fiddle with. It will be running my new 48V H-influx strips off it.

2ndly, thanks for the humidity / VPD chart, I actually think I am lucky and will get away without having to worry about things too much if I can keep my temps around 27 degrees i.e. night humidity is in the ball park. I'm still working on my controller options.

The driver is preset to 48volts! You only need to connect the strips in parallel. For dimming use the current regulator. No need to set it to a certain voltage. The voltage of the strips fit well inside the constant current region of the driver and therefor the driver will work in CC mode. In this mode the voltage regulator is dissabled anyway so leave the rubber grommet plugged in and use only the current regulator for dimming!

Funny how kiwis cant figure out how to screw a driver. Let me help.

First...very important...get a screwdriver that fits in the hole.....

Second...insert screwdriver...find the screw...

Third, turn clockwise for up, counter clockwise for down...

E Z (pronounced Zee not Zed), P Z....

Seriously, though...

you can use a multimeter to check voltage and when adjusting amps...that way you at least know what the wattage is...a light meter under the lights would also do it

We're sophisticated down here - obviously ...

Random / PC - I'm following King Prawns advice and going to 4 individual pots in pots but I'm going to let them run into a large tray so all run off is easy to collect. If I set the drain so there is always a bit of run off in the tray to evap and help keep humidity up are there any issues with salts drying on the edges and potential vapour issues? Roots would always be in fresh nuts at the bottom of the 2nd bucket.

I have my trusty 20 dollar lux meter, just wasn't too sure about how to adjust these "A" type drivers.

I really like my "B" drivers with remote pots I must say - easy to adjust but at the expense of a bit of power availability.

The one thing American sports all have in common is they have to invent all this protective equipment so they don't hurt themselves even before they step out on to the field.

Like I said, real men don't need helmets and shoulder pads, and shin guards and hip guards and crotch guards and knee pads and elbow pads and . . . Jeeze, the list goes on.

Have you guys invented anything yet to protect your hurt feelings? :P
