I wonder how hard it would be to make something with a reaction chamber and regulated release of the gas.
No big changes since yesterday. I'm going to try to space out the progress pics so each update shows significant change. So here's a sneak peek of the flower table. Right now my outdoor is in there becoming indoor and recovering from a mauling from pm. This is B-Witched, I'd show the Dancehall/gasm and gorrilla cookies but they look like hell, lol. In a few days they should be recovered. Denatured alcohol and trimming were used to get the pm under control.

There are plenty of diagrams at Google images. Haven't tried it myself, but I noted the info in case I decide to try it in the future. I've seen the equipment sans the soda bottles all sold in an inexpensive kit.

Thank you I'll have to look into the plans. I love doing little DIY alchemy projects. I started out under the guidance of a hydro guy who grows great weed, but frequently has issues. I was frequently having issues and was noticing the organic crowd spent more time talking about rosin presses and curing techniques than they did spider mites or nutrient deficiencies. For me, this is the easier way and I keep learning more about how to use what is available locally for free. I'm all about free.

let's build a budget, no frills, led.
I have some EB series 2 strips and a driver, a cookie sheet, a power cord, doubles sided thermal backing tape, and some wires.

The cookie sheet is new and so I degrease it to ensure the tape will stick.

Since these are cookie sheets, and there will be two of them, (only showing one here) I measure once and drill twice by stacking the sheets. Because I could.

Wires pass through the sheet once. I lacked a grommet so I machined a piece of packing material into a Custom Power Wire Impact Dampener™.

The drivers wires don't quite reach as far as they need to so one side is extended. A lot of people use those Waygo connectors so they don't have to solder, those are fine, but budget? Alligator clips make soldering a breeze.


Some heat shrink wrap neatens it up and prevents shorts.

This will be wired in parallel, with the + going to each + on the strips and the same with the -. I twist the wire around the end of the needle nose pliers so that the wire from the driver can pass through the coil.

And solder.

I cover that with heat shrink PUT THAT ON THE WIRES BEFORE SOLDERING lol. I don't know how many times...... One of the nice things about waygo's I guess.


The color coded wires on the driver go to the corresponding color coded wires on the cord. Maybe some day the world will agree to use the same colors? More heat shrink.

I wish I'd known to use adhesive double sided thermal backing tape on my first builds. Way easy! I stick em on there, and shove the 18g solid core wire home. I wonder if it'll work?

The idea is to eventually have 4 of these, so I can individually adjust each plants light in the 4x4, and hang other stuff between them.

The sheet was part of the effort to keep it cool. Temp is really key with these things. I was having issues with it for the longest time till I realized the evening sun was hitting it directly and cooking all the cuts.
Good point on the tape! I'm being careful to lay it out first, make sure everything is facing the right way, then one at a time with a double check before sticking. I'm sure acetone would free it, but who wants to deal with that?

Here's my "outdoor" grow from the summer, indoor now, and recovering from pm and mites. Weather changed a week ago and they got hit pretty bad. The Gorilla cookies took it the worst.

BWitched seems to be on track despite loosing most of her fans.

Dancehall/gasm weathered it pretty well. She's still wanting to go sideways and not up

You can do dwc easy peasy w/o issues, need to be on it daily, enuff air, good pH-ec meter. But seems counter to your philosophy. It’s all good!

I want to keep this honest, learning through failure is much better than pretending things are fine and making the same mistakes. Hopefully next fall I have a better plan to manage the season.

"need to be on it daily" And there's the rub. I agree one can grow serious dankness with those methods, I just feel the margin for error is slimmer. My hat's off to all of you that do it, but I don't ph, ppm, mix nutes, etc. I mean, I do, but encouraging fungi to handle my ph and feeding regimen and worms to "mix the nutes" well, they are just more responsible and dependable than I am.

You gotta grow the way it works for you, i admire your way, but prob couldn’t do it myself. That's what’s great about this weed, so frickin adaptable.
