Hello all, starting my grow journal so I can keep track of my grow and thought this would be a great place to start. Here's my set up;

5x5 grow tent
630w cmh dual bulb grow light
16 Animal Cookies clones
8" 780 cfm inline fan with speed control
Charcoal filter
Using open ports as passive air ways
4x4 flood tray
400 GPH pump Recirculating system
Drip lines
20 gallon reservoir
80 GPH water pump circulating in res.
6x6x6 rockwool cubes
2 6" clip on fans
16" oscillating fan
▪Week 1 nutrients
GH Floranova Grow
GH Diamond Nector
GH Flora Blend
RO water.

This is my 1st run in over 10 years, wish me luck. After days of battling heat issues during my test runs, I will be picking up a portable AC today. Since my tent is 5x5x80 and I wanted to do a recirculating drip system I needed short table to get the proper height between the light and when the plants get full size, I built a 5'3"x5'3"x12" platform for the tent to sit on to raise it off the ground. My flood table from the bottom of the tent to the top of the tray sits at 16" high. I also did this so I can have proper drainage back to the reservoir which sits outside the tent. After mixing up my nutrients and give the clones their 1st veg feeding my pH dropped down to 5, I was able to get it back up right away and refeed the clones so the rockwool would have the right pH in them. The air stones I was using started to make my nute solution foamy, so I removed the air stones and left in the air lines and it's back to normal. RT in my tent is 86°F and my RH is 36%. I took one picture before I hooked up the drip lines and included it with this post. I will include some more later today.
Stay High, DG

Can’t wait to see how this goes. I grow in rock wool cubes too and am looking to switch my 2 600s for 2 630s in my 4x8

Yeah me too, 1st time using a Cmh, when I used to grow back in the day I used hps andmy, but this time around I heard a lot of hype about these. I guess we'll see in the next 2 months

nice. What light is that? I wanted a smaller reflector like that for mine. The SS is way too big for my liking

It's a SunStream 630W Double Bulb CMH grow light, I got it on Amazon for $260. Bright as hell. I have it raised all the way up, I'm going to start slowly moving it down day by day until I see they can start handling the intensity from the light.

Day 4
Temps are staying between 79-82°F with the AC, but when I run the AC my RH is in the low 30%, but when the lights and AC are off my Humidity will average 65-70%. Looks like I need to add a humidifier.
Ph in my reservoir has been staying balanced and temps in the res have been staying between 69-71°F. Plants look like they're adjusting to the light and feedings.

Day 7
Just mixed up week 2 of my nutrient solution and the plants are looking good, at least I think for 1 week of veg. I'm using the Floranova Expert recirculating feeding schedule with my own modifications. They started at 5" tall when I started and today they are hitting 9". Temps are fluctuating between 74°F and 78°F and RH is at 38%, I'm still waiting on a humidifier so I can get that up. My reservoir is a steady 72°F. The space between my light and plants is 38", once they hit 12" to 14" is when I'll flip to flower

So its day 10 of vegging and I have pistils showing on every plant. Not sure why, I recieved them as 5" clones, I kept them under a CFL light for 24 a day for 6 days then threw them under my light in a 18/6 photo period. They are 11" now and I was planning on flipping to 12/12 once they got to 14" long for my sog. I still plan on doing that, just hope they haven't triggered to flower yet.

Day 14 of Veg
Had to flip to 12/12 last night, plants started shooting up real fast. Plants range from 15" to 17" tall. I will be giving a quick flush for their 1st feeding of the night followed be a nutrient feeding a few hours later, had to start feeding twice a day the last couple of days, they were getting thirsty. I will post a list of nutrients I will be using tonight.20180915_185723.jpg 20180915_185714.jpg

I’m gonna pull up a chair if you don’t mind. Looks like your off to a great start. I’m interested in sog type grows. I’m gonna be picking a mother out of some Chemdog and Girl Scout Cookies this next run so I can do a sog grow. I’ve heard that sog grows is the best way to get the most out of your space so I’m curious to see how well yours do, best of luck to you.✌

Plants are pushing 18"+ tall, I'm feeding twice a day for 2 minutes, once 3 hours after the light turns on and once 3 hours before the light turns off. My distance between my light and the canopy is about 28", I'll be lowering it a few inches for the next couple of nights until I have a 20" space. I'll be running my exhaust 24/7 now to keep the humidity down. During the day when the lights and exhaust are off the humidity rises from 40% to 80%. So keeping the exhaust on will keep humidity between 40% to 45%. Temperatures fluctuated between 74° and 78° when the lights are on and between 70° and 74° when the lights are off. Thank God for air conditioning.

Why's that, Never had that problem with all my grows in the past.
so as the light /air hits any roots or nutes you will start running into issues that is why most to every system is in-closed and why roots grow in the ground in darkness if u get away with no root rot green mold or funges you will deff lose 25-35% of your harvest due to roots being in the light its simple growing maths lol
