Luckily I bought a loooooong sprinkler wire so I could put the drivers wherever I want....
she hurts the brain to look at.... a bazillion green dotsI wanna see that big ass bitch lit up lol. Maxxx Powaaa.
Ayy, I see stars after looking at my 132's at like 1050ma.she hurts the brain to look at.... a bazillion green dots
Pix soon
I hadn’t considered supplementing with co2.... mind if I ask how it’s goin 4 u ?You wont be able to use 1000 watts of quantum boards in a 4x4. I use 750-775 watts with 16 cobs per 4x4 with 1200ppm co2 and I can tell at times it's a bit much..
Can someone clear this up for me. 1000w in a 4x4 is 62.5 watts psf. I’ve read the sun is 100 watts psf and CO2 is much lower outdoors than 1200ppm. I’m not trolling whatsoever I’m just trying to understand. I’m currently getting my tents back up and running and I was going to try and get close to 100 watts psf as possible. Is that really way too much? You wont be able to use 1000 watts of quantum boards in a 4x4. I use 750-775 watts with 16 cobs per 4x4 with 1200ppm co2 and I can tell at times it's a bit much..
this makes no senseI’ve read the sun is 100 watts psf
Exactly.OPs insane rig when dimmed down will be so efficient he will be hard pressed to run it much over 35W/SF
those QBs dimmed down will prob be upwards of 60% efficent, so 35 W/SF should be over 1000 ppfd
strange, my 1000w panel with outside drivers only increases my ambient temperatur by about 2°C. i must do something wrong...To be clear first, I dig this dude's light he built. Its badass an he did it for a great price. I only said it may be hard to cool since it is still in fact 1000 watts, and 1000 watts of anything is a lot of heat.
Now I've got people a little triggered it seems...
Now to address your comment about ballasts and drivers... your right, HOWEVER, ballasts are typically kept outside the grow area so that heat is a non factor. Drivers are mounted to to light and are a factor.
Probably not, I'm going to assume it's over a 4x8 since you didn't mention the space... but depending on what the area is made of, if it's a basement time of year etc, it seems normal. 1000nwatrs is 1000 watts. Theres a good chunk of the year my hps in a 5x5 doesnt need cooling also.strange, my 1000w panel with outside drivers only increases my ambient temperatur by about 2°C. i must do something wrong...
I took measurements last Summer outside in NC, fairly clear day a few hours after noon got a reading of over 1900... but that's not going to last the whole day. Early and late in the day the Sun will be less than 100w per foot, or whatever it happens to be depending on location, weather, etc.this makes no sense
radiant watts maybe, but as stated above not PAR watts
100 watts/SF of LED (at 50% system efficiency) is ~50 PAR watts
40 W/SF of LED is ~20 PAR watts or almost 1000 ppfd
most people run 35ish W/SF of LED to get 700-900 ppfd
OPs insane rig when dimmed down will be so efficient he will be hard pressed to run it much over 35W/SF
those QBs dimmed down will prob be upwards of 60% efficent, so 35 W/SF should be over 1000 ppfd
sounds about right, i get 1800-2000 at high noon at 5000 feet in summer as well, but as you mentioned thats just a few hours a day, not 12. that kind of light all day for 12 hours would probably be 3X the DLI (anybody who hasnt read up on DLI (daily lighting integral) should take some time to understand it)I took measurements last Summer outside in NC, fairly clear day a few hours after noon got a reading of over 1900
Do you always jump into the middle of conversations? I dont honestly give a fuck about you or where your drivers are mounted... the op's drivers are also outside his space. None of that actually changes anything, it just makes it the same as everyone else with the ballasts outside the area. Really have zero clue what your on about.your part about leds and where the drivers a mounted and my part about the drivers mounted somewhere else. read it again. maybe THEN you realize something... (hint: someone not me is wrong)
A WATT of electricity. In its entirety. In HPs case, about 50-60% of that watt is heat. But as far as LEds go, it's more like 30-40% of the watt is transferred to heat. So what the fuck are you talking about?Do you always jump into the middle of conversations? I dont honestly give a fuck about you or where your drivers are mounted... the op's drivers are also outside his space. None of that actually changes anything, it just makes it the same as everyone else with the ballasts outside the area. Really have zero clue what your on about.
This all started because I was talking to the OP (who is not you) and in a friendly way, after complimenting his light a few times, said I hope he has some cooling, because 1000 watts is a lot of heat in a 4x4.
What does that have to do with you?
Answer: jack fucking shit.
A watt is a watt and it makes 3.4 btu/hr of heat so go yell at the wall an shake your fist at physics if you want but this isnt a led vs hps argument no matter how much you wanna make it one.
^^^Bill Nye the Science Guy^^^Wtf are you talking about, You have no clue haha
They both make the SAME amount of heat. It's really funny you dont get it but that's fine. Any other simple concepts hard for you? Can you walk and talk at the same time?
Honestly I dont give a fuck about YOU, but it's funny how stupid you are. Why you gotta make this about you anyways? I was as talking to the OP. You just wanna follow me around spouting stupid shit that is not a debate, it's a fact that a watt produces 3.4 btu/hr. Your trolling as hard as kingrow1 over here. Actually maybe we should try an get @Kingrow1 in here bawhahaha
2 retards have a issue with the FACT a watt produces 3.4 btu/hr of heat NO MATTER WHAT, everyone else went on with their life, because they know this. Even the people who make these units as their JOB.
