First Auto Grow (Girl Scout Cookie)

This is my first time growing an auto flowering seed. I will germ more seeds for my 2nd run, but this time I am only going to germinate 1 GSC seed. He's in soil in a 3 gallon bag. 36'' away from my LEDS in the tent

Reason being, i'm 3 weeks into flower with my current bag seed grow (1 plant, 4x2x5 tent, 2 300W LED). I know the 12/12 lighting is not ideal for an auto flower, which will produce less yield, but my tent is tied up for 5-8 more weeks regardless and their is plenty of room. I'm willing to sacrifice 1 seed and it's yield, to actually increase my yield for this harvest. That's what I've chose to do.

I'm open to any suggestions/advice. This is my first auto grow. I'd like to try and LST (as you can see in the picture of my tent, my bag seed plant stretched like a mofo!) so I can get the biggest yield possible from an auto.

During the 12 hour dark period in the tent, I do have the option of removing the GSC and putting it in a room with some normal lighting so it gets more than 12 hours of light. I can't put it outside (I wish). Any suggestions there?

Day 3

The seedling has poked through the soil, but the seed shell is half open and still covering the leaves. I've been misting the soil 1-2 times a day, just in a small area where the seedling is.

Moved it from 36'' away to 25'' away from the light.

Day 4

Seed shell fell off yesterday but their was an clear inner piece (membrane?) off the shell that was still holding the leaves together. It fell off this morning, revealing the first 2 sets of nice green leaves!

Very exciting! Took longer than i'm used to, due to the fact it's only getting 12 hours of light instead of 24/0 at the seedling stage. I knew that going in when I planted this during flowering of my other plant.

Day 6

Gave a little bit of h2o yesterday. Little seedling is growing slow. I see a second set of true leaves forming though. I try to bring it out of the tent during lights off, but it's only getting basic household lighting.

I wouldn't keep taking it out of the tent. Not getting enough light during light hours will make it stretch horribly, and make it lanky. I've run autos on 12/12 from seed and still yielded pretty good.

Thanks for the reply. I've been keeping it in the tent the past few days.

Looking good man. Are you giving them any nutes???
No, I will probably hold off on nutes completely. I'm using FFOF soil, so that should cover me for the first month at least. I'll monitor after that and give some nutes if needed.

I see the Grow Big is showing in the pic. But no, i'm not using that on this one. Just my larger bag seed plant in the tent also.

Thanks again for this advice. This girl is very short, the node spacing is very tight!

When she gets a little taller get you some safety pins and yarn or string or anything soft and bend her over to the side. And let all the smaller side branching under those fans come out and enjoy the sun. And every time one pops up higher than the other ones. Pull it down even. Keep bringing tops up. Especially when she starts flowering. She will stretch. And the tops will pop up every day. So you'll have to give it attention every day. But the safety pins I open up and tie the string to. And you can stick the sharp point in the side of the pot. And it gives you area to pull em to the sides or where ever they need to go.
