Autopots

I used to use them Frank. I did maybe 10 harvest with them.

I personally don't rate them much. I think the root structure lacks due to been bottom fed and roots tend to only be lower down.
They are ok for a lazy man, but they don't compare to a proper hydro set up nor to fabric pots hand watered.
They can block so you have to watch out for that.

If you cant have noise of pumps ect and have to be automated then they are acceptable I suppose.
But I would literally go with any other hydro or soilless set up for root growth and thus yield.

I run 4 autopots on 2 reservoirs. I am lazy. :D Next round i will run 1 bubble bucket and 3 autopots to see if i want to switch it out a bit. These were grown with autopots. 4 of them in a 4 x 4 tent. The centre pic was a king tut that i grew before i knew about defoliating. the 1st autopot run was the first full run start to finish (12 oz of bud and 3 oz of butter larf). I was using a 550 watt mcob and switched to a 315 CMH and next round will run that with 200 watts of vero (2VL)
the biggest issues I have had were with the root disks. I bought new ones. And media. I have found coco with perlite or growstones works the best for me. With 1 or 2 inchs of hydro clay in the bottom.

If the roots get into the system it causes a swampy odor.

And you can use zero organics. I screwed it up using some bud ripener but it made everything funky. Now i stick to GH trio and thats it.

Have a good one

lol how rude of me calling people lazy.. I don't always think before I type

I should of said, they helped me be lazy and not pay enough attention to my girls, so I didn't spot a hermie issue which screwed up my perpetual.
Guess I was projecting my own errors onto the grow system :dunce:
I still think most other automated watering systems give better root mass.
But on the positive side, no electrical parts to fail and as long as you check the aqua valves are in order they are pretty safe. :bigjoint:

No harm no foul. I did it because i can not get in the tent sometimes for a week. BUT I did get a hermie one grow too that made everything seedy. I blame it on fem seeds and an overwhelming urge to peak when in flower (when lights off time was on). I also really jacked up the nutes.

I did it to be lazy for real. Next round the bubble bucket will be my first hydro experience :D I am looking forward to it.

Autpots hate organics
Autopots like a water stirring thing. I use an aquarium pump in the reservoirs on a 15 minutes every 2 hour timer...and not air stones.
The last 2 weeks of grow dial the nutes down to half and let it finish.

I learned way more than that but i think of those things right now

Do you use the air nets or whatever they are called @gwheels and did you upgrade the tubes to the thicker ones?

@Frank Nitty , I don't remember where you are from but if your UK based I will send you an 4 pot system for free. That's if my old landlord hasn't thrown it out in the last week , it should be in my old loft.

I did not upgrade the tubes or use airpots. But i bet they both make it better. The lines are ok it is the fittings that constrain it. I have shutoffs on every pot for emergencies and tent shifts. I might buy 4 air domes just to see what it does. But I think i will hit 1 lb in my 4 x 4 next round and that is pretty much ridiculous for me and my personal consumption.

I used to be about an oz a month guy and i might hit 2. Now i throw everything in my magical butter machine to use it up :D but wow i have killer brownies for months.

And I vape a lot. The flavor....mmmmm. Train Wreck is the best haze i have tried yet.

Wish I was in the UK... Not just for the pot, but just to be somewhere else for a change... Thanks though!!! Find out if its still there and how much it would cost to ship it to me and I will pay the cost...

Outside the UK the cost of shipping wouldn't be worth it, the box is fairly big.
