DIY with Quantum Boards

You think 8ft on the dot be to short for DE's? How much loss in yield did you have compared to hps in same space you ran the quantums?
Not sure on the 8 foot ceilings. Im sure if you managed height you could do it.
Not sure about the loss in yield, maybe none. I still have a week to go. I believe quality takes a huge hit compared to DE and single ended hps. I went in it looking for high yields and less watts. I should of went in slower and made sure quality was same as or better.

Hello all!

Currently testing out a cabinet I built with two QB288 spaced out on the XL heat sink.

This is my first time growing, and I’m growing cherry tomato plants.

Two plants in seven gallons, 2’ x 4’ cabinet. I’m wondering at what height I should keep the light at through out and at what intensity since height in the cabinet is limited. Max height of the light is probably 22” above my set scrog which I want to use.

Cheers!!

I've got 4 120's, 2 288's, and 9 cobs, total now is 650w inc fans and high temp last light on was 80 deg. If I were to crank them all up it would be over 1000 and get hot. room is 16 sq ft, vent fan.

I grow tomatoes also with mine, ans sometimes Jalapenos. All veggies love these lights! I believe Robincm grows big pepper bushes also. I'm planning on using a couple QB 120s to grow strawberries in my livingroom.
Reaching back to see if you can tell me a little about your set up as I’m trying to grow tomatoes with my lights. Surprising there’s very little resources online about growing tomatoes in tents with lights. Thanks!

I've not done any serious growing of them. I do though, often stick a tomato or pepper plannt in a corner of a tent. Foliage can be prolific. Finding the right light cycle is probably the most important thing. I've had one plant flower under 24/0 and most do not. I'd say a 14hr day might work well, it seems to be what my peppers like also.

I usually grow them in three gallon pots in organic soil. I have one now being fed Megacrop .Grwoth is amazing! Yet her color is off a bit and still some yellowing, I don't know why. Going to send this one to the greenhouse and start another.

Even with a single board it's hard to control the heat... Look at this shit!!!View attachment 4144802
The low temp is 81? What is the temp in your room outside the tent.
Maybe you should try running a lower wattage in the same space. Maybe give another try. Im switching back to cooled hoods in the area fast as fuck. Sticking to DE's in the other.
Yeah I messaged you way back when trying to hook you up with a duct cooled version. If you put the units in those hoods you can do the same thing you are doing with the HPS. Trap the heat before it enters the grow environment. Not real sure on your setup vs the DE side but I can guarantee with no doubt that at equal light levels the led side will use less wattage and have less heat than a greenhouse style DE.

Thanks! I’m new to this veg growing. They were going great then looked like they were getting burned. I dimmed the driver down but still leaves not looking great.

I know right? lmao.
In veg I've been putting the exhaust fan on a timer to keep the temps up ffs lol, during lights on.
I only cool my house, not my individual room. I just leave the door open during the day. With just under 400 watts of LED my temps stay around 81°-83°F which is nice. I like lows above 70°, maybe 71°, 72°.I only run a dehum in the room at lights off.

Maybe if I wasn't running the house AC I could see getting lows that high.

@a mongo frog, can you elaborate on how the quality is down compared to hps? Is it the bag appeal or potency is down or both? I seen GML had lowest ever percentage on his QB grown death bubble strain, guys will say it wasnt perfect run but i dont buy it. I too have high hopes for quantums but I trust your opinion more then others here since we both have similar lengthy backgrounds with 1k hps's and you invested money in quantums, ran them and now speaking your honest opinion which I appreciate!

It was not a perfect run. Far from it and everyone who watched the show knows it.

Lmao because I won't comply with your every butthurt demand? Are you stupid? Wtf do my plants have to do withyyour high temps? Wtf do your high temps have to do with anything I do? And so since I don't snap-to when you cry, I must be a fake(or something, not sure what your point is). Good luck with your temps, sonny.
