Are Auto's Fertile? Can they be seeded?

I have only ever used regular seeds.
Just crossed my mind. Im quite intrigued by autos
Hey Tim,

Yes Autos are fertile just like any other strains. The problem is that most breeders only sell feminised auto seeds. You can't keep an auto mother-plant because it would go into flowering automatically. Seed banks do it on purpose so you keep buying their seeds.

But some still sell regular autos though it is getting pretty hard to find these days.

Hope this helps

What about future seed stock? Do they have a tendancy to revert to a photo? Or are they an entirely different variety that is stable?
Thanks for the reply

Go read about this stuff from the companies that are doing it if you really want to know, Dutch passion and mephisto explain it all.

Cheers.
Have you seeded any yourself before? If so how was the offspring?
I will give the companies you mentioned a search in google now, and see if i can find what you speak of.
Thanks for the reply :hump:

It takes a long time to stabilise a strain and you have to work with regular seeds or else you will end up with hermies and the gene pool will also get poorer.

You can seed a fem auto and get a ton of fem seeds of the same plant for $20. Not sure this is what you guys are talking about. I’m not going to go into it here. I have a link below in my sig. BKR Project or something similar. It talks about TMist.

Sorry. I can’t stand false info.

Again - see my BKR Project link. It explains what to do for lotsO fem seeds from a fem plant.

I’m not going to take my time to explain this again. It’s so easy it’s stupid.

Happy seed making. :bigjoint:

Dick here being helpful - You can take ANY fem plant and produce hundreds of fem.seeds.

I think the last time I bought seeds was probably 7 years ago or so. I have a bank of a few thousand fem seeds. Just saying……

@HighLowGrow thread .... Look at it .

FEMMY seeding is hella easy with autos. You can CS/STS an autos lower branch , grow some lady nuts - harvest the pods OR " self " the bitch and get more auto seeds than you need.

To me it's easier than keeping a mother - I can save a favorable structured auto ( diffent phenos can express , even from same stock ) - some lanky , some stout. From there you can SAVE it with a simple treat. And work with multiple strains without sacrificing space for " mother plant ".

Here is GSG auto seeds :

Sprayed one plant ( 2 branches ) ... FEMMY pods grew ... Harvested branches , placed in glass of water , over a mirror . Pods open and dump. Business card scrape the pollen
( like Kief ) and use a thin paint brush to pollinate 2 branches on other plant.

Come harvest time for main buds -
Check the lowers and you also get seeds . Sometimes I leave the SEEDED branches behind to fully finish them.

I dont want only females. I dont think you guys are understang my question.
I want males and females, period.
Is it achievable with autos?
Fem seed are the shittest thing to do imho. If i want all females ill take some cuts off a mother. I love breeding. And to me seeding a crop and waiting to see how your reggie seeds turned out the next time you grow, can be one of the best things in the world. Its totally your own.
So back to the question at hand. Can you get male and female autoflowers to cross your own? And will the offspring be fertile?
Again, not interested in feminised seeds in the slightest.
