nice heatsink, where did you get that one?
We have a machine shop and this was leftover from a job. I've got about 12' left, that the cool thing about a shop thats been around since 1969, theres alot of "stuff" that is handy to have. heatsinks are somewhat rare though so I was happy to find this, I have been scrounging for heatsinks and these were fins together so I Thought it was just solid flat bar until now.

here is the qb288 fix I just assembled.
Hooked it up to the kilawatt and the range is from 94 watts to 290 watts, I let it run for a while last night at max, didn't realize it was that high, got pretty warm. I could hold my hand for about 1 sec on the driver or heatsink, at 94 watts everything is barely warm. I now have it set to 180 watts and will see how that feels.

Hey, day 54f update here,
Struggling with humidity, it's around 55% at the moment and trying to keep it around these values. I believe that we have another 7-10 days before I'll chop them down. Due to a very limited hight restraint 4-5 of the plants that are under the cobs bleached their top flower, nothing too major tho. Got to remember for next time, don't be lazy and lolipop as you should.. but hey, that will be a great dub run with those popcorn buds at the bottom.

Pics were taken this morning, finally got the flash to work

Happy growing all
How many plants in that 4x4 tent again?
That shit looks sick.
From seed or clone? and how long of veg before flip?

That's a 3x3 (80x80cm). Got 20 jillybean clones that were vegged for 12 days (could have just vegged for 5 days) in a 3.2l pots, using Coco perlite as the medium. They are getting around 600ml of feed per day across 10 different feeding cycles.

I noticed this morning that one of the plants ( the biggest one in the middle) showed signs of bud rot. I cut the main cola and indeed 25% were rotten. The infected buds were thrown to the trash while the rest is now drying.

Spent the last hour or so examining the rest of the plants, luckily so far it seems that this was the only plant affected.

The other 19 are scheduled to be chopped in 7-8 days.

That's a wicked grow. Sounds like a lot of work! It's beautiful

Did you know Subcool lost all his base genetics/breeding stock in the wildfires?

Yes, I remember reading about it recently. That's sucks, having to watch a fire eat away your entire house and belongings. At least he and his family are safe, that's one way of looking at it.

What's the best way to get my hands on the HLG 40? I see the 65's are available on amazon, but they're non-dimmable and a bit too powerful for the intended use. Anything I can buy to dim the 65's? Otherwise any idea idea when the 40's will be back in stock?

I'm almost positive I heard him say on a livestream that he didn't lose all of his genetics. He said he had some genetics with other grower friends of his. Either way that wildfire can fuckoff, it ruined a lot of lives. It was good to see the cannabis community of youtube gather together and raise money and resources for those in need.

hey guys

what would be the best QB for a 40x40x120 space? I am very unlikely to change from this space over the next few years.

I was thinking of 100w QB or 135w QB and dialling down to a point that works.

Anyone had experience in this space?

Really want to use the tech but not sure if its going to work in my small space!

Thanks for your help :)

Can anyone tell me if using Quantum boards in a Homebox Vista Medium would be overkill? I'm going to be growing succulents and cactuses and I would like to use the shelves that come with the tent, so the growing would be in three layers. That would only leave 40cm (15.7") for the lights, pots and plants themselves on each shelf. I feel like even though the QBs are dimmable, I would be basically paying for power I'd never use. Would they be overkill even when dimmed to the maximum? The 260w QB kit would be perfect for the tent footprint, but I don't think it's meant to be used so close to the plants.

Any ideas? I'm mainly interested in the QBs because of their size, they're really thin so they wouldn't take up much space.

135 watt will be plenty. You are on the right track. Dial it down and use the wattage you need no more or less.
