Why hate sellers?

I guess I should move to a legal state and just grow huge quantities? Then export it like the mexicans used to do? That is what the govt strategy is telling me?

Or grow hemp.
I think I heard that hemp flower was down to about $80/pound (from $800, in just a year). That's probably a combination of thousands of (new) acres in production and a lack of a developed market for the fibers.

Once the market starts to consume it, both the prices and production will jump. But make no mistake, farming even a couple of hundred acres is a LOT of back breaking brutal work. Even for a crop as mechanized and automated as wheat, it's still a grueling business. Well, at least during prep, planting and harvest.

Still, at $80/pound, farmers are making good money - if they can scale and automate. But it is farming, not growing.

It's interesting that Mass allows hemp farming in it's legalization legislation, but I haven't heard boo about it. There is a lot of unused farm land here, and the growing season and weather would be good for it, but so far nobody is moving there (at least visibly).

What't the federal stand on hemp? Is it still verbotten save for a few legacy farms?

My state is shady, and its wrong for states to allow big operations when im a felon for a single plant. Thats bs. I cant even get a med card with a major pain issue. Its even worse when legal states send the pesticide ridden weed here for bargain basement prices.
it is wrong that you could be a felon for a plant. it's not wrong for state to allow it. it's wrong for yours not to. it's wrong that, in states that allow it, you can't get far into the legit business if you have a record. it's wrong that the legal market is organized for med sized big business through the way the laws are written and the capitalist environment it is partialy open to; giving rise to commercial grows by business entrepreneurs instead of dedicated qaulity producers. so you get pretendo quality flooding our market and illeagle quality weed goes else where. production is ramped up all around and 3 outa 5 people are shit so yo get more shit weed and more chem grown. leagalization needs to be full decriminalization and not these leagalization packages that hand weed over to big business.

It's the way our society is being run.

Grow your own, don't contribute to the greed.
Which is exactly why the greedy want to see us shut down. Who here has heard of one illegal grower turning another in so they could sell more? If they would do that, they surely wouldn't think for a moment about supporting efforts to re-criminalize home growing along with licensed producers and dispensaries.

And people ask why they have a bad name.......

some fuckers are getting filthy rich. I didnt think that what this thing was about.
it's not what it's about but as long as people do get filthy rich, it should be designed for those who deserve it not who it is being handed to. esp when the ones it's being handed to want to push out those that deserve it who kept it high grade and care about the plant and have a personal stake in the culture/s instead of a business stake with a business mind and no real empathy. weed is currently being gentrified. mostly the new comers don't have the old quality but they are purchasing and essentially stealing the old genetics. they get the same killer cuts and they own authentic strains now. all this data shows the price going down but i get an oz of authentic quality for the same as ever if not more. at the same time there is cheaper and cheaper chronic available, i am seeing much of the exemplary bud priced at sucker prices, 400-500 oz. 20-25 a gram because these are businesses and there a people who literally seek out and insist on More Expensive Pot. that's a scam but so is capitalism. if you want to avoid this, be picky about how it's legalized and shop around, denying the scam shops your money, it takes 5-10 shops to find one that is above bard with at least both quality and pricee.

Farmers consistently produce crap that we see at the store. flavorless fruits and veggies that filled with pesticides and bred for yeild. Who wants to lower themselves to that level?
I would suggest you find a new grocer. Big farm is interested only in yield/profit, and most chain grocery produce is as you described. But to malign all farmers is painting with a very broad brush.

I know two real farmers, one fairly big and very wealthy, and one eeking out a living, but both take pride in the healthfulness and taste of their produce. The little guy is fully organic, and sells amazing veggies and eggs at fair prices. YUM!
The big guy grows only a small portion organically because he could not sustain his farm if he were to change that equation because there is simply not enough demand for the higher priced produce, even if it is better tasting and more healthful.

i dont hate big farmers, i hate when thy grow in a legal state and then send all the shit illegally in usps boxes over here. Thats fucked up. Yes its legal for you now, but dont be shipping it around like some drug cartel or its totally illegal. Sell it in your legal state.

it sucks that they turn legalized weed into a big business only proposition. its like beer but eventually with beer there is a resurgence in craft beer. But the big farms can put out dank too, unless in canada.

I voted to legalize in Colorado specifically to get the money aspect out of it.

I'm still waiting for that to happen.

I don't see it as often now as I used to 5 or 10 years ago. People using it for "medicine" once it became legal where they lived seemed to be more anti black market because it's competition. People growing and selling meds are not doing so for free.

Most people started smoking long before it became legal and would continue smoking if it was banned tomorrow. That means at some point they've contributed to the black market. I'd be curious to see the percentage of people who have only consumed cannabis since becoming legal. I'd bet those numbers would be low, probably comparable to people who never tasted alcohol before they were 21.
Id like to believe that its out of fear. Fear that all the time and energy to legalize can become undone by dealers. Please dont mistake to horrors of prohibition with the freedom these dealers once provided. After all Most of us would of never tried cannabis if it wasnt for them.
