When I think of beer I immediately think of my go to Hefeweizen's or Kölsch. But remembering a particular Bourbon Barrel Aged Russian Imperial Stout from Epic Brewery (Big Bad Baptist), that was the perfect blend of creamy coffee and chocolate notes you could be right. I'd imagine they could go very nicely with that.

Magical thing I've found about food taste is if you don't like it just smoke a little more and eventually I'll eat pickles with whipped cream on an omelette.
