A few observations:

• I have concluded through 40+ years of research that 98% of Americans are ignorant and will believe anything that is repetitively told to them. Most are incapable of critical thinking.
  
• They had the Pope chime in because if you're of the mind to believe in Catholicism then man made climate change isn't much of a stretch. If the Pope wants to slow co2 emissions he should maybe mention to 3rd world populations that it might not be a bad idea to consider birth control, but that would decrease the power of the church.
• MMCC gives me better yields than I had 20 years ago.

That's still a kick ass stat, and here's why; if you want to provide x electrical generation capacity, you need to be able to produce x amount of power. If x is the peak power of the system, that means the other 99% of the time, you going to have excess capacity, doing nothing but costing money.

Did you know that buying peak power on the open electricity market can cost DOLLARS per kilowatt?! Yep, because it's still worth it at those prices instead of building power generation capacity you'll only rarely need.

Those panels are replacing some very expensive electricity and by their very nature, they're doing it at exactly the right time. Now, if only those Texans were smart enough to put the panels on top of their homes, the shade itself would save as much on their power bill as the panels would earn them!

If we can find a way to recycle nuclear waste then it's worth it. I'm with you though, those leaky nuclear reactors need to be shut down. Personally we should probably be more concerned with what's at the CDC might leak out, holy shit at that apocalypse. Or... do we trust the CDC to not let things leak out? Is that even possible?

Another solution to an energy independent earth is a better battery. If we had the capability of driving cross country without a charge, we solve so many other problems as well. We also create a giant one though. Imagine what a weapon that could be built from that type of power.

What scares me more is the lack of understanding of the technology involved.
It then causes me to question why people are so quick to believe the other issue.
It seems to me addressing strategies for energy REDUCTION will do more to alter the world beneficially than arguably impractical techno-alchemy.
