I'm trying to look for the best way to store bud for 5 to 6 months. I was thinking just vac seal a couple times and keep in a fridge. but not sure if it would still dry out too much

Bovedas will do that for you.

I know a guy who cures for 6 months using bovedas. Once the RH is stable he moves them onto the next jar.

Boveda are envelopes that are originally masa to put in cigar boxes to keep a certain humidity level of a specified percent without the level going up or down. It has become a foolproof method of curing in jars. I have been using them for years without failure.
