well add it up over the years. $150 a year replacing bulb and reflector . $1500 over 10 years plus 50% more electricity cost. And then disposal. You can't legally throw an hps bulb in the regular trash. You have to go to a recycle center that takes those. They're not recycable either. 10 bulbs over 10 years per light that's pretty bar for the environment too with all those toxic compounds in the bulb.
led will last 10 years no bulb change and electrical savings.
I had a friend who replaced 10 1000 watt hps with 15 inda gro Induction lamps. They get the same yield, better quality. Save about $6,000 a year on electricity. $1,000 a year on bulbs. In 3 years of savings. The lights pay for themselves.
we all need to cutback on the electricity we use. Until every one is solar powered.
