would you work at your neighbors if you took acid and didn't sleep, lol?

when I was 26 we took acid at 7 in the morning and were getting ready for work,,,me and three guys did hits started drinking and then left for work,,,so were drinking beer and driving at 8 in tha morning and we get pulled over,,,I get out and go to the cop car ,,just starting to peak,,and the cop rolls down his window and says someone is drinking in there,,I went off into this rant of how hard it is too find good labour whores in my line of work and that I just picked them up at the subway station and that I was really sorry ,,as we got pulled over we all handed our beers to the newfie who had the passenger door seat in a pickup,,,,the cop says get rid of it,,I go back to the truck and say get rid of it,,the newfie opens the door and all 4 bottles that he placed against the door fall out and break against the curb,,,,I see the cop lower his head and shake it and immediately get a broom a dustpan and a bucket and clean it up,,,,he let us go,,i couldn't believe it,,,we got to work and prolly worked a half day before the owners kid came home and said,,hey you guys want a beer,,,the rest of the day was spent hangin round the garbage bin in the driveway laffin and drinkin beers,,,,,,sorry I just remembered this as I was having a smoke outside,,,,,,go hang the frikkin door

I feel completely confident in my ability right now, it's a little more the just hanging the door though. So basically like I said her kid has a muscle disease of some sort, so they hired a contractor to install a handicap shower and he cut the door frame out plus like a extra 8" to install a special wide door for his wheel chair, and she said no she wants a regular sized door put in.. so I got to fix his fuck up

Problem is, the more shit I remove, the more I see what kind of halfass work was done prior. Its a shit show, the house is put together like a patchwork quilt.

Meh, I'll just put extra nails in everything... That should do it!

Do you own the house? Because if not I wouldn't be doing shit if I were you..if you own the house then do it right..

Its my parents property, about 500 feet from their house. I'm not within line of sight either ;-)

I'm doing it right. I've got a buddy doing the actual labor, he knows what he's doing. Me? I'm just cutting where the lines are and cleaning up after him. Nailing where I'm told and mixing the concrete LOL! I'm his bitch but it saves me on labor and I'm learning as I go.

I like the sawzall the best so far. Fun tool haha.

We've taken the whole floor out, all SIX layers of it!?!? And beneath were the 2x8joists (actual 2"x8") and a rotted 8x8beam. The beam was notched and the joist were notched and it all fit together. Its a retarded design really... The pipes froze and burst some years ago and the wood has been rotting ever since.

One side of the building is actually higher than the other by 7/8", and we only ripped out part of the floor so everything we do has to fit and flow with the part we didn't fuck with.

We have a couple utility poles around so we used them instead of the beams and cut out the rotten sections of 2x8 and replaced them. There are huge boulders at each corner of the foundation.

I'm pretty sure it used to be a building for storing tractors. But then they retrofitted it to house people? It looks like they demolished half the building, jacked up half of it, then built living accommodations.

Next we need to build that floor back up, then I can get carpet and linoleum in here and finish the kitchen area. Need to rip out shit in bathroom and the plumber needs to see if any of those pipes are still good. The toilet is cracked and the shower enclosure is cracked to shit. The water heater was bad so need a new one, might as well get a water softener and fuck it, RO system as well right? This is turning out to be a pain in my ass, shoulda rented another year

I can salvage the bathroom sink :victory:

There's a propane line underneath the house just chilling, not being used for anything so I'm going to run that through a small hole and have a propane BBQ out there, build a little patio area, on the west side. The bush/trees in front are being ripped out and replaced by my south-facing garden. The north side is a covered wooden porch and I'm gonna build an outdoor kennel so my dog isn't cooped up for 14hrs a day while I work. I think I might give her access to the porch too, so she has shade...

Pretty cool i guess, its kinda perfect for me. Small place to myself.

Whoa I had a lot to say there, I didn't realize lol

tl;dr don't bother, I'm tired.

Oh yeah and the front door the the beam beside it has to be replaced. That's what the concrete was for, to build off of the foundation and level off a base for the wood to sit on.

I'm best at carpentry, sheet rock, tape and bedding, countertops and cabinetry work. And wood floors and some plumbing and some electrical

The really shitty part is that the laborer makes more money than me by 25%. So I have to pull a 12hr shift for every 8hrs that he works. Not to mention cost of lumber, insulation, saw blades, plumber, toilet and bathroom stuff etc

Me and dog both just sighed at the same time <3

Its very kind of you to do pro bono work for the neighbor lady. Those wheelchairs can be a bitch to maneuver in places not designed for them. Not to mention that accommodating door sizes make it easier for EMS as well.

So are your parents paying you? Because mine wouldn't ever pay me.. When ever I see my parents they make me chop and stack wood all day or paint or do something for free.. They even joke like, look free labor...
