As a footnote, please remember that the largest power draws in your home are things with motors ( AC units, ceiling fans, washers/dryers etc etc ) Lights actually amount to a very minimal amount of your monthly household power consumption ( unless you are running 2000W's of lights 24 hours a day ). Still pisses me off that my parents were always bitching about "turn the lights off when you leave a room".....but Dad/Mom, my plants need their lights....LMAO

Just for fun, turn every light on in your house, turn off your AC ( or anything with a motor ) and go look at your electric meter.....barely moving.......Now turn off all your lights, turn on the AC, dishwasher, and washer/dryer...now go look at your meter....fucking thing is spinning faster than a Jay Carney press conference.....just sayin'.

Yes, you will be fine with that particular timer and T5's/fans in an ordinary household outlet on a typical 10 amp ( or 20 is even better ) circuit outlet.

What about my 400w HPS running on a 120 cord. Can i use a power strip like that one? or should i just plug it straight into timer and straight into wall?

also the timer says not to use with digi ballast, that sounds wierd.....is this a big deal? my ballast for the HPS is digital

As long as you don't exceed 80% of the wall socket, timer, or power strip capacity/ Always leave 20% reserve capacity or you'll be blowing breakers all the time.
