Will this setup work to power my grow room

I was gifted this autopilot 4 light controller from a friend. I’m wanting to use it to run 4 leds (720watt each)and a few fans for my grow room.

I’m wanting to wire it to 10/2 wire with a 3 prong dryer plug on the other end so I can plug it into my dryer socket For power. I’m not worried about using the timer relay plug as I would like to just put a timer on the lights themselves.

I would like to be able to unplug the light controller and use my dryer when the lights are turned off. I’ve attached everything I’m thinking of using for this project. Please let me know if this works.

It’s a temporary living situation which is why I don’t want to just install a new breaker for it.

The breaker for my dryer outlet is 40amp.
The light controller is 15amps per side I believe, so 30 amps total for that, although I doubt I’ll use 30amps for 4 leds on 240v

:blsmoke:any updates bro? im kind of in the same situation as you but i got some "powerbox dpc7500" unit for like 100 bnib from a buddy from what im seeing online it says i can plug it into my dryer outlet i want to be able to also use my dryer when the lights are off

I haven’t done it yet. Hoping within the next few weeks to do this

Volts x Amps= Watts
720/240= 3 amps per light

240 volt by choice ? meaning your lights reason i ask sometimes people believe its cheaper on the electric bill. In some parts of the world or country it may be :)
typical wiring size and loads. 14 gauge wire is good for 15 amps 12 wire is good for 20. and the breaker to correspond.
Now you could put the smaller breaker on the larger wire , just extra protection but why keep it closer to a typical code wiring.

How far away is the panel to the area you want to supply 240 to? Is there a 240 or double knockout available on your panel?

Sir i could be wrong but i am guessing the 15 amps pers side is max the controller can do , not what it is doing. Yours hooked up appear to be 6 per side if splitting 2 lights per side . Controller by its self i would guess .2 at 240 volt. Good news if you have the cut sheet it will give you controllers actual power requirements.

I just wanna make sure it’s safe to run the 4 light controller off a dryer style plug that I plan to plug into the dryer power outlet

I personally would not be messing with the plug but going dedicated circuits You need your dryer outlet for the dryer dont you ?
