So is the general consensus that 12/12 from seed should be done in a .8 gal? I'm using 600W Aircooled hood, FFOF with mushroom compost, cow manure, kelp meal, perlite, EWC tea, molasses. I'm in a 4x4x7. The goal is to go 12/12 from seed, find a keeper male, move him to mother/father tent in 18/6, chuck the rest of males, grow females out, clone the best one, mother her, pop a different set of beans, repeat, until I have 6-8 strains I really like, then work on stabalizing with the respective males. I have 2 tents, one veg, one flower. Aiming for perpetual. Sound good? Or should I move up to 1.5 gal? IDC about plant height, I'm scrogging. Just don't want to have to water every day as my job and my wifes job are conflicting schedules, I have a hard enough time keeping up with the rest of my shit.
With coco in the Airpots they dry real quick mate, with the 6ltrs i use im upto waterin everyday early flower, i used 10ltrs and they worked out goin to everyday waterin by the last few weeks of flower, but the plants were big, with you usin your own mix im not sure how quick they will dry out, but would think soil would take longer. sorry i aint much help just givin my 2 pence, sure some soil growers in airpots will help you out tho mate.

Anyone try a no veg sog in the .3gal size? I got same clones rooting im goin to try it with.
Is the .3gals around the 1ltr size mate? i use them for veg an my 1st pot before i go to the 6ltrs they work wonders, ive vegged for 6 weeks before in 1 with no root bound an i even did a blues cut in 1, 4 weeks veg an 9 week flower in a 1ltr pot, had a bit of a hard time tho as the pot was dryin so quick really it needed waterin twice a day an some weaker food but i watered once a day an gave it the same mix as its bigger sisters, so got a little burn but still grew an produced the same yield as its bigger sis in 6ltr pots. so what im gettin at mate is you may need to water twice a day which with out drippers or somethin can be a real pain in the arse, no doubt you'l get good results tho.

just like to say im using 10 litre airpots for the 1st time.
5xEXO uk clone only and 1x pineapple exress with 600 hps,,,, i normally use 111 litre wilma pots so lets see the diffrence!!
Good luck ice hope they do bangin for ya lad!!

My mix holds water pretty well. I'm using it outside and inside and during initial flowering I could go almost 2 weeks with no water and the top 3 inches would still be moist. Outside, I've watered once the whole season by hand, and about to do it once more, this stuff stays a little TOO wet. I'm thinking I'll up the % perlite to maybe 25-30% instead of 15-20%. I'm thinking 5 Litre will be good for me. I saw a guy do a strain on mother keeping and root trimming in square pots. The guy says he has kept the same mother for 15 years in a square pot by transplanting from a 2x2x4" to a 3x3x5" and then cutting the root mass and soil off the 3x3x5" and transplanting back to a 2x2x4." He showed his pics and they didn't seem to be suffering at all. They grew major bonsai style. OMG THE FUCKING STEMS!!! It actually looked like they were so fucking vigorgous I couldn't cut clones fast enough for the setup I have. I guess I could make a lot of people happy though?!

Thanks pukka! Yep the .3gal is the 1 ltr size. I dont mind watering daily i enjoy time with my ladies. I use airpots in various sizes already and love them. Im thinking of throwing my 600w into my 2x4x5 tent and sog instead of growing 5 3ft plants in my 4x4. Then use the 4x4 for moms and clones. Im looking for by weekly harvests. Thanks for the input! I read all 30 pages of this thread lastnight, good info in here

Sorry for such a newb question...first time air pot user and grower ;)

I'm about to use 5 x 12L (3 gal) airpots. They have a layer of hydroton at the bottom, then the rest are filled with 100% Canna Coco. My question is how much water mixture will I have to make to wet these for the first time? I'm using distilled water and each container is 4L (1 gal).

Make some
pour it on the first one until it runs out a bit

I love airpots.
I've been using them for 2 years or so. They get cheaper with each use and have been paid for 100x.

I know to do that....I was just trying to get a gauge of how may containers of water I'm going to have to mix (I'm adding Rhizo to it). I guess I'll just mix 1 container and see how far that gets me. Then I can gauge the rest....I was just trying to avoid not making enough, then having to make more because then I have to wait 1-2 hours to buffer before actually using them. Just thought someone might be able to help me from experience with these sized pots.

Im sure in the 10Ls i had to use 2-3L of juice to get decent runoff, but remember with fresh canna coco its all ready dampish so will need less 1st water, the coco pro you can not water for a day its that moist. So id say at least 3L mate, but best to just try 1st mix 1 of those 4Ls an see.

this is my first grow with the 10 litre airpots neverused em before and i must say im impresed,,i normally used the 11 litre wilma pots but these are WAY better, also conveniant holes if u need to string suthing up.
only down side is the leakage wen u feed, but feed em sloweley and u will not get any, also i ghear making a well n the middle of the pot works well too,, dunno who recomended em but THANK YOU!! while damn ther messy ther well worth the lil bit more effort
:)
