I have often thought about the whole ip thing and any computer guy knows how easy it can actually be to find out where someone is locataed based on that information...
Just like some have mentioned....I dont think cops really care about just some regular guy growing a few plants for personal use. This site is only for people with small grows. From what I have noticed anybody coming on wanting info on how to successfully grow 10 pounds every few months are more or less told to go elsewhere and that this is not the site they need to be looking at.
So another member got busted? Do you know how he was busted?

No, it happened recently though.
I really don't think anything to do with this site was a part of the investigation,
but you never know.
Certainly no warrant was given based on anything posted here...
Although repvip did put up pretty incriminating pictures. He had a decent operation going... definitely not just a couple of plants. I really do hope he says a little more when things have cooled down.
Told him to contact NORML if he doesn't already have a lawyer...
They don't make you post bail for pot do they?

and i'm an off duty cop, i've come across this site, what more am i gonna do from here...
as said, one cop isn't gonna pull in a bunch of drug dealers from ust accidenting across some pictures in his spare time (although anyone hear about that dealer that got busted for putting his weed advertisment with adress and such on youtube?) so only way it goes to the next level, is as said, with a hell of a lot more money effort and manpower, something that won't go down unless the superior officer making the shots decides that the haul will outweigh the operation etc.
i'd be curious to see how closely budgets and such are monitered and published, i mean, if i found that my local police force was using 50% of it's drug squad budget to catch growers, and all they were succeeding on pulling in was 1 plant joe, i'd want a vote of no confidence for a new police force! if i give you my taxes you use them reasonably!
yea this website is good even if a cop does any thing 4th ammendment says illegal surch n seizure is well illegal

Im not real sure if they make you post bail....I only know 1 person who was busted and I dont remember if she had to post bail. I know she didnt get in much trouble....pretty much a slap on the hand and lost some lights and other stuff through it all. But I think she had like 6-8 plants....they got her at just the right time (as if there is ever a "right" time)
