how do i know that i am not talking to the cops on here????i cant be the fisrt one to think of this....cant they just trace your ip and say you cant grow pot in that state and come and bust you???i just smoke smoked some good shit that got me thinking.......any input?

really no one else had this thought? reverse ip lookup you get an adddress then a warrent then your busted!!!!!!some one ensure me thats not going on here

it is not illegal to visit this website

you can not get a warrant for your IP address looking at this site

yea im paranoid thats what keeps me on my toes....but that makes sense i can visit any site i want...but what about when u post pics and say thats my pot plant that is illegal.....

Such an investigative effort would require a considerable amount of coordination and legal maneuvering. Legally acquiring IP addresses would be expensive and extremely difficult to justify on the departmental budget when the quarry is one dude growing a few plants for personal use in his closet. Hacking the site to acquire IP addresses would result in all related evidence being set aside as tainted, or worst case scenario - convictions being overturned on appeal.

Common sense should prevail. Do not post any incriminating photos or information which could possibly identify you. A photo of you and a buddy holding bongs and guns - bad idea; or sitting on the hood of your car (license plate visible & legible) smoking a blunt - another bad idea.

In all likelihood, a bust would not result from a site like this, but from more tangible evidence. Cops go for targets of opportunity so do not make yourself a target. Things like the smell of a grow are low hanging fruit for a lazy copper. But by far the most dangerous threat to the hobby grower is the informant so don't tell anyone.

I honestly had to 'LOL'. Like said, they have more important thing to worry about then a John Doe growing a couple plants in his basement or back yard.

Think smart, dont let it out to ANYONE! Keep it to yourself and you shall be deemed a well worthy wait for smokage. Hence why I dont smoke in public, back roads/gravel roads? Yeah sure..highways, no.

Very and I mean VERY few people know I smoke, and I like to keep it that way. I let very few people in my house or even come visit my house. Less traffic in and out, less suspicion.

and i'm an off duty cop, i've come across this site, what more am i gonna do from here...

as said, one cop isn't gonna pull in a bunch of drug dealers from ust accidenting across some pictures in his spare time (although anyone hear about that dealer that got busted for putting his weed advertisment with adress and such on youtube?

) so only way it goes to the next level, is as said, with a hell of a lot more money effort and manpower, something that won't go down unless the superior officer making the shots decides that the haul will outweigh the operation etc.

i'd be curious to see how closely budgets and such are monitered and published, i mean, if i found that my local police force was using 50% of it's drug squad budget to catch growers, and all they were succeeding on pulling in was 1 plant joe, i'd want a vote of no confidence for a new police force! if i give you my taxes you use them reasonably!

Plus, if your that paranoid then you can drive around with a laptop, psp, or any wireless internet access device till you find an unsecure connection and use something to hide your ip or spoof it to look like its from somewhere else and/or bouce it through many, many, many proxies....so I've maybe overheard in a conversation while paying my taxes and obeying the law and just admiring ALL the wonderful law enforcement for the OUTSTANDING job they do and hard work for the community.

how easy is it to trace an IP when you're sat huddled upto your proxy and use a dynamic IP?

You can get in trouble for committing a crime on an unsecured network if you are doing something illegal online without their knowledge. If they leave their network unsecured, it's an invitation to use it. Perfectly legal as long as you don't break the law while using it.

If the man were really after you, they wouldn't need to trace your ip. Microfost logs your CPU everytime you turn your comp on, they can and will find you if they want to. But I doubt bud growers are ranked up with paedophiles, terrorists and big time hackers just yet. This is a forum, not thepiratebay.
But if you're still worried, I'd ditch the mobile phone before the internet. They're much easier to find even if you change your phone and number regularly.

Obviously most of these guys havnt read the FAQ of this website. Its not safe to frequent this website and post on here with an unmasked IP. Use whats called a proxy to mask your IP everytime you visit this website and they will NEVER track you... ok never say never but you know. Look up a free proxy on google and use that to type the website https://www.rollitup.org or any other MJ information websites where you post and ask questions or post pictures. ...And also you really only have to worry about this if you are INSIDE your grow house... You dont want your dynamic IP address sitting around on this website connected directly to your house.
