Seamaiden, I just got a bike off craigslist last week -- the kind with pedals. :) It's insanely bright neon pink, from the '80s. I am totally in love with it! I just rode to the farmer's market nearby and got a bunch of fresh veggies...and a STRAWBERRY RHUBARB PIE!! My favorite! Also picked up some more of the potting soil from the compost people. I love summer!

Will you guys go look at my grow journal? I want to know if anyone has tried Reverse and if it works. From asking around it seems the strain has a tendency to go hermie, so it will be interesting to see how many we all get. If I don't get at least one happy female out of the 7 on my terrace I'm going to be PISSED!!

I feel very fortunate as a first-time grower to have two people more experienced than me growing the strain at the same time. Better yet, one's indoors and one's outdoors, and I'm both. This is going to be a huge learning experience. Go Connie go!! We will send you forth into the world!

I searched for your journal and I couldn't find it.

You go, girl! I've never had rhubarb. I do happen to make a WICKED strawberry cream cake, though. 8) (Damn, gettin' fat just thinking about it.)

Weird, it's in the grow journals section...doesn't it show up when you look for my posts? It's just called "Littlebat's grow."

In less than 48 hours I will have my cabinet! Wooo! :)

I looked directly in the G.J. forum, and then tried using the search function (that failed miserably). I'll just do a search on your posts, bet I'll find it that way. :)

YAY I got one of the papaya seeds to sprout!!! Just one out of 10, but it's got a nice healthy root. I put the rest of the seeds back in a glass of water; maybe I'll get another one to open up by tomorrow. But yeah, it took a day of soaking in water and 5 days of sitting on the stove to make it happen. I tried to sprout five Connie seeds and got three of them to crack.

Let's pray this papaya is female! I worked hard to get that root!!!

Wow.. on one hand I guess I'm glad that it's not just me. On the other... maybe Papaya likes it better in Texas?

I can't remember who posted this, but someone said that when you soak the seeds the ones that sink are the good ones, and the ones that float won't sprout. Guess what I observed with the Conquistadores. Of ten soaked, eight sank. I went ahead and put them all on the paper towel, and of those, eight sprouted. The last four were planted today. :) Wish to hell I could remember who posted that tidbit!

Dammit, I just got my cabinet, for which I paid $450, and which was shown in the ad as a 5-plant system. It arrives and it's a 2-plant system!! WTF?!?!?

I don't think so. I've never done hydro before so I guess I'll just do one grow with the papaya that sprouted and one of the connies. I sprouted 4 connie seeds and it sucks to lose the other three, but oh well.

Do you know anything about Supernatural nutes, or powdered nutes in general?

no...I don't use powdered nutes. I have heard Supernatural is good to do business with but nothing more than that. i am pretty sure they will have whatever nutes you are looking for...as far as powdered goes...what do you want to know...I will shoot around the web and do a little research

I'm trying to figure out how much water to use and how much of the powder to put in it. It says 1-2 tsp/gallon but it seems like there could be a big difference between 1 and 2. Also, do you use the same water/nutes for a week? There is very little info with the cabinet and SO MUCH info online my head is kind of spinning. Any help any of you can give would be greatly appreciated!!

Also, just out of curiosity, it wouldn't hurt my outdoor plants to give them a bit of the GroAqua too, right? Will it help to give them a boost of nitrogen? They're in worm castings already so I don't know if they need it or not, but we've gotten tons of rain and I don't know how much of the nutrient has washed out of the soil.

the amount of water is always gonna depend on what size pot you have them in at the moment. I would say start with a half tspn per gallon. what do you mean by water/nutes for a week? I am confused on that. As far as the outdoor plants go...the worm castings should be pretty good...it has been dry out here so I dunno how much rain you have gotten but if you think they could use it then it probably wont hurt. :blsmoke:

Thank you littlebat! that is amazing of you. I cannot wait to get started .
I think the four of us are gonna have the best girls on here soon. We will all have to make a thread for it. BTW...i think you chose the better side of the country...I love it out there....except the humidity...he he he

I know, I am SO excited...I'm going to be growing these plants soil AND hydro at the same time, and we're all going to learn so much. We'll be able to create a really awesome thread.

I am such a science dork...I was the kid who won the science fairs in school. This is all like one big science fair project to me!

Honkeytown, if you can find out any info for me on these Supernatural nutes that would be fantastic. How are you going to grow yours?

Oh and I have 3" pots and hydroton pellets. And I just wrapped up your seeds. SCIENCE!! <-- say in Thomas Dolby voice

This is my cabinet, btw, if it helps you to see it.
