Thanks for taking the time to read my question.

My Setup
  • Strains: Tangelo Rapido Auto (Barney's Farm) 3 wks old, Auto Sour Diesel Haze (Seedsman) 2 wks old, Green Poison Auto (Sweet Seeds) 2 wks old.
  • Grow Medium: all are planted directly in 5 gallon "smart pots" with a 50/50 mix of Roots Organic and Royal Gold.
  • Location: During the day they are in the greenhouse and at night they're inside under LEDs. Temps during the day are mid 70s-mid 80s and at night a constant 75.
  • Nutrients: I'm running the General Organics Go Box with the addition of Recharge, Silica, and an enzyme. I gave them the first dose of nutrients a few days ago at 1/4 - 1/2 strength as they're young and autos are generally very sensitive to nutrients. I plan to water with nutrients at 1/2 strength the entire grow every other watering and water with Recharge and an enzyme for the opposite watering.
The Issue
To start off the Tangelo Rapido Auto and Auto Sour Diesel look incredible. I couldn't be happier at this point with those two phenos (the first 2 pictures). They took the nutrients well and appear to be thriving.

The Green Poison Auto however has looked sad since day 1. The leaves have always look wrinkled and droopy. I don't know if this is a pheno problem or something environmental, but I'm wondering if I should just give up on her or will this be corrected? I understand she's young but this has been a problem since her first set of leaves showed up. Her leaves also seem to more resemble a ruderalis than an indica in my opinion, so maybe that's part of this? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Nothing wrong with those!

Auto grower? Try Mephisto Genetic's! These guys do auto's right!
I was looking at Mephisto, might try them next year. Thanks for the comment, it looks a little better today. Might just be a strong indica type leaf.

Quick update:
Plants look great. I'm so happy I didn't get rid of the Green Poison Auto. Plant looks amazing and smells great. Strong side branching, but a little stretched. I did some LST on the other two strains and kind of wished I did with this lady as well but still very happy. Equally as happy with the Tangelo Rapido. The Auto Sour Diesel Haze has had slight problems but still looks pretty good. Below are pictures of the Green Poison, roughly 30 days left. Thanks to those that chimed in!

Quick pictures of the plants if anybody's interested. Roughly 35 days in for the Tangelo Rapido and 30 days in for the other two. Plants are in the greenhouse at night and outside during the day (too hot in greenhouse during the day). Really happy with all three.

Order of pictures are: Tangelo Rapido Auto (Barney's Farm), Green Poison Auto (Sweet Seeds), Auto Sour Diesel Haze (Seedsman):

Your plants look great. And never cull a plant unless you are out of space and have more to go it it's place. And even then, the sun shines everywhere. You can always dig a hole to toss it in.

Your next seed buy, you might think about getting a small pack of some dank regular seeds and hope for a male. No reason for you to spend money on seeds long term. I'm wanting to do some semiautomatic {photo/auto} crosses myself.

I love the idea of breeding autos, but know very little about it. Is the auto trait dominant or is it more complicated than that? Reading some of the breeders descriptions on how they crossed some of the strains it appears that many of them are back-crossed with a regular strain and not an auto to increase potency. I'm trying to fly under the radar with 3 or so plants so don't want to waste time on ending up with a photo. I don't need a lot for my personal use so 3 autos should be sufficient. Thanks for the insight!

Yes, the auto trait does pass down when crossed with a photo. But what is good about it is it will stay in veg if you keep them under 24/0 of light. Folks get them 4-5 foot tall, then put them out. Even in the middle of summer they will start to flower. And you can keep crossing them with photos, so it's easier to keep them in veg. Folks in the wet coastal areas grow them so they can harvest before the fog and rain start in the fall.
