Here are the girls now at 6 weeks. Had to chop down the blue dream because she hermied at just after 5 weeks. I wasnt going to let her spoil the bunch, so she had to come down immediately.

Is this the norm with this strain or is it a possible stress related issue? I only ask as I have a couple freebie seeds and would really hate to lose a crop from hermies. Fantastic lookin plants, are your plusberry showing any color?

I've spent my morning re reading the beginning of this post. It's a bit daunting and I want start building , so i'm gonna dump some questions on ya.there are a couple of pics of buds with a phone.I noticed an overflow hole near the top, but its not mentioned in posts.I guess my question is are you just saturating the medium, no measuring to worry about? The tubs that I'm going to use can fit rows of 3 hempys with little space between 2ltrs. None of the pics have a lot of space between 2ltrs. , so I didn't think it would be a big deal ,but you never knw?I've been using a mix of 45% vermiculite ,45% perlite , and 10% worm casings in my vegetable garden for about ten yrs. and I like it ,so that's whats going in my hempys.besides that the hydro store is 30 miles from my house.I use coarse gound verm.I use to use fine , but there isn't much difference between it and coarse.Coarse is easier to come by. Anyway , moby mentioned re using the perlite , how the hell do you separate them?I got some magic beans from barneyfarm , critical kush and L.S.D. , anyone ever try these? And finally , moby , did you ever build that doomsday device?Should I be on the lookout for Slim Pickens?sorry i'm so long winded.

one hempy bucket has a crack below the vent hole which causes about half of the water to leak out, so it's reserve is only about 1/2 to 3/4 inch....any suggestions would be welcomed

all four 2L hempy are doing well...the two with soil capping seem to be doing a bit better.

the 3 ugly dwarfed dirt dwellers are in 12/12 flower mode, two are already looking like males, so I may be left with the smallest one only.....not really worth the cost of the electricity to continue.

Just take some duct tape to it. Apply the tape to a dry surface and it should hold up. Or get some flex seal. That stuff does wonders. Good luck

I tried the duct tape already, didn't work.

I think I just may buy the exact same $3 bucket and go with a double haul approach

If you have a bigger bucket laying around you can fill your new bucket halfway then simply cut the bottom 3-6 inches off the old bucket and put it in, bucket and all into your new larger bucket then fill the gaps with whatever hempy medium you are using.

I believe some people call it bogging if you want to do a search and see first hand what I am talking about.

Silicone would probably do it. Good luck

Nice setup and the scrog is going to be something to watch. The stem you say you split, if it is the main stem you can take a piece of tape and wrap it around the stem close to the node and leave it. The plant will heal itself, or you don't have to do anything to it and it will also heal up.

Txchillies, the blue dream haze was an experiment by swerve of Cali Connection. He was trying to offer an S1 of the clone only mom Blue Dream. Freebies of seeds were sent out with the June'12 promo at the attitude. After hearing comments from those that grew it out, I was skeptical of growing the strain. I figured growing only a couple clones as a tester would allow me to gauge the genetics. After just 5.5 weeks, I saw two like yellow nanners popping out of the flowers and yanked them. There was no way I was risking the others getting pollinated. If you have a few of the seeds, grow them in an isolated area and they seem to flower abnormally fast. I had about 70% amber pistols at 5 weeks. It also does not yield well at all. The smoke is very much heady from the tester bud I sampled. I'm going to let it cure for a couple more weeks, but the initial taste is absolutely delicious. I would certainly like to try our the HSO version to compare. I've seen much better yields on the HSO.

As for the other girls, the plush berry is mostly purple in the flowers. It smells like berry skunk. The qrazy train smells more like orange sprees. Can't wait to sample them both. The group of qrazy trains are 3 weeks behind, but are measuring in at 2.5' in a 2 liter! Massive buds to come!!

securedownload-240.jpg So after hearing a lot of good things i bought some. Directions say add once. Anyone chime in on how theyve used it with other nutes? Im in the middle of week 5 day 39 and my buds are just starting to really bulk so i figure now would be the time to add a flower booster.

That's some good info you have there drdank, Thanks. I germed all 5 of my Flav seeds last wednesday and tomorrow they will be a week old. These have to be the fastest growing things I have done so far, I've put all of them in party cups (hempy style). Going to keep them there for a couple more weeks then in to 2L bottles for a week or so to sex. I'll transplant all females to either 3.5 gal or 5 gal buckets, going to veg them alittle longer so I can mainline one or two, depending on how many females I get.

Shiva, I have seen and heard good things about PK 13/14, haven't used it yet. I do know it does mix well with GH Flora series.

I was told and read that vinegar is better than lemon juice, it's basically old habits die hard lol. I've been using lemon juice since I began household farming and just haven't changed. Stuck in if it ain't broke!!
Although I have also read that Apple Cider Vinegar is the best to use and from some reports is even more stable than just plain white vinegar. I do plan on grabbing a jug soon and trying it out to see if it holds the ph stable for a longer period of time. My test would be off tho as I haven't used vinegar, may have to grab a bottle of white also just to see. Also to note, I hand feed and usually every 3 - 5 days max (2-3 in Hempy) (4-5 in Pro-mix). Haven't run a system with a rez so I wouldn't know if the lemon juice would be good as a ph down for that application. Peace!!
Nice to hear! I'm just about to feed the ladies and I've got 5 gallons of organic apple cider vinegar! sah-weet! i'll stick with it through flowering and let you know if its any better than the powdered citric acid (which i'm assuming is comparable to lemon juice)!...I'd really love to get a pH probe for my TI 89 and chart a week in the reservoir and then run a comparison between vinegar and citric acid...i might just do that too and see what the results are (though i guess if you never use a res you wont be to intersted but others might!)
be easy mang,

Mobius was talking about straight perilite or possibly the traditional 3:1 perlite : vermiculite mix i believe...anyway, good luck with your mix man. I might recommend doing one plant straight perlite, one the traditional, and one your mix to compare the experiences...it would be nice to get a slight feel for the ways that are considered more traditional so you can see how the method developed...also, your notion about wicks is interesting, but the idea with hempy is basically that you don't need wicks because the roots fill through the cracks in the perlite and reach the bottom reservoir, thereby making wicks redundant, and actually possible root rot hazards. Any thought on nutrients yet?

Yes, I have a landrace Mexican that does the same thing. Gives you that quick first hit head rush then slowly creeps into your body and will leave you on the couch.
