What you learn by using cfl's makes using an HID even easier (better) getting the best with what you got can be a valuable experience, in other words the grass is never really greener on the other side of the fence

very true! i learnt alot more and payed attentio to alot of the little things that i wouldnt when growing under an hid or outside! was a great experience and i do have to thank u for the guidance to make it that much better

So hard to tell. Buds look great, but I can't tell. I was off by a ways on my first harvest, and second one I got the top weight backwards out of two. Mary my Royal Kush IDK again maybe guess before I drown it. Fun of experimenting.

With the drowning ... I assume the plant continues to mature for several days before showing signs of oxygen starvation and death.
Would it be a good idea to submerge the roots several days before the time that you would expect the trichomes to reach the "perfect" stage (when you would normally cut the plant)?
If so, how many days do you think that the plant continues to mature for?

All still very experimental, we are still learning. I discovered that the drowning thing was real and now folks are trying it. I can tell you that the plant does not die from doing this, it switches to a survival mode that starts the fermentation process turning carbs and sugars into alcohol and yes it continues to grow and mature.

with the new fermentation chamber I have built, I have also shown that a chopped bud will continue to mature as well

Thanks Riddle, when the time comes I will experiment too, what's the worst that can happen ... I will end up with good smoke, what's the best that can happen ... I will end up with very good smoke, win - win I think.

so what wins out, drowning or death by light starvation they are both survival techniques, i didnt get a chance to down my headband but i will try it soon, but ive done the light deprive thing and that works, what about freezing, theoratically that should work in some ways.

I'm not sure that freezing would do much good at all as it would most likely damage the plant's cell structure and pretty much kill it - too late for the plant to do anything when it is a block of frozen mush.

my temps dropped to mid 60s high 70s n all that does is bring some nice purples

well guys all i can say is im a beleiver and i will forever be drowning my trees! after a few days drying i broke up a nug and gave her a taste the tate was comnpletely different as if i it had about a 3day cure it wasnt a very well defined taste but there was a taste! thank u riddlme im gonna forever be drowning plants!

well i trimmed everything up and threw her on the scale! i feel i lost alot of weight due to hat deficiency the tree was battling late into flower...i think i might even have lost up to 10grams of bud due to the buds not swelling and filling up the stem...but i did yeild 25.2grams which i guess is not to bad! i got a nice half gram peivce of scissor hash and 10grams of shake which went into brownies!!

bud really doesnt have a defined taste but its kind of fruity with a haze like exhale...the high is pretty intense! was not expecting to get such good results with cfls! it a pretty stoney high as it gives u bad couch lock but it hits u hard in the head as well i think i might have harvested at a pretty good ratio but the high is fast within a couple draws off a spliff and u start feelin it..heavy behind the eyes and i mean really heavy! lol i got some pics of the buds on a scale forgot to take a pic of the scale wen first weighed but i did after a smoked a bit lol...but the final weight was 25grams and im adding in the 3grams lie 2weeks ago...

well i got my other topped tree in the cab hoggin the light all to herself! there is alooooot of secondary growth due to the reveg and topping..so i lstd her today and she loves it! she would be perfect for scrog...fill a screen in no time! wlel heres the pics...

idk but i couldnt resist and had another spliff at 11..its now almost 2 and im still high! its starting to get a nice pleasant but hard to pinpoint taste but the high is like u go to do something and then 5mins later u snap out of zone u wur and catch urself not doing nething with ur mouth open staring lofl! def not a smoke if youd like to do somethin the rest of the day! idk im really happy with everything i mean a plant less than a ft tall got a lil under an ounce of some good shit! i mean dont get me wrong 1024 under a cfl isnt my first ever gow or taste of high grade ive grown outdoor...with a lil less attention and time spent...and about 3-4 indoor harvests under hid's..my last is where we came across these seeds...werent to sure what had pollinated these tress but 2 turned hermie and at the very end of flower the 1024 did and i got my beans from her...her mother was no where near as good grown under much better lighting! i didnt have much control over that garden other than putting it together and giving tips...but i did dry and cure it and my cfl grow kicks its ass! not saying hids are inferior but thats how much ive improved thanks to riddleme and others on here! dispite all the problems i had with this tree it turned out great! cant wait for this next harvest i should double if not triple my yeild with this one!

Congratulations on a decent yield Rasta, CFL's are definitely great for keeping your personal stash full of good quality buds.
