Why does pot smell?

I was wondering why pot plants smell so that I could better understand the reason my 12 plants indoors doesn't smell as strong as just one 8th from the medical club smells up the place how is it that 8th is 10000 times stronger in sent?

i always wondered that too, i understand why pot is sticky to catch pollen but i never knew the point of the smells.

so i can walk down the road and tell if people have a grow op or are just toking out back

Flowers smell, onions smell. Whether it's a good or bad smell is just our human bias. Most plants smell it's just that we don't think much about it since that smell is not associated with a taboo.

I know things in general smell . But usualy there's a reason wether it be to alert you of it's presence or to secrete oils for fragrence. My question is why does pot smell and if it's a resin thing how do I increase that to create more smell?

Generally speaking, plants emit a fragrance to either attract or ward off animals. But I've never seen a bee on a weed plant, so who knows what the exact aim is.

Its because Pot plants are natural. They use the smell as a means of attracting Animals and insects to help the polinate. Hope this helps...

pot smells because of the leaf. The reason I say this is because if you water cure herb it takes the smell out. If you rub the leaves of your plant or the stems of a vegging plant it will smell like that heavenly aroma. The THC glands are not the main culprits for the smell just the stone.

Basicly the older they get the stronger the smell due to resin buildup. Sweet thank you basicly allowing the soil and to dry properly will produce stronger sent. ?? Well see

The 8th might of smelt stronger because it was cured....curing your buds well will bring out the aromas of the herb .so it often smells stronger then when it was growing... hope this helps :^)

most people are worried about their plants smelling, you should be so lucky

just different strains smell different maybe you have a low oder plant that's all and curing is what brings the smell your looking for after you cut make sure you cure beast as you can
